I don't think it was really a rape, Heesoo didn't hate it, he was more concerned with Dojun's health than with himself. It hurt because knotting hurt as hell even if you're omega, but he didn't felt abused and that's clear when he find cute that Dojun is so worried about him

Yeah but no matter how many times he apologizes, it still is rape. Also it was the author’s choice of having this scene exist between them which is what I was frowning upon. They could have easily enough not done this scene and used another conflict instead. Whenever I read an omegaverse story it almost always includes rape and the title “omegaverse” is a perfect cover because it’s basically giving an excuse for as how rape is okay because they “can’t control it” I’m not really blaming Dojun- I love him with all my heart- it was just disappointing to see the same rape cliche.

People who say its rape clearly directky rules out the fact it was something not under his control and as mention to the story, rarely ever happens. So if a big man, suddenly gets a rare brain tumor, zaps out of his consciousness, falling unto a small child which harmed or killed the kid, you'll rule it out as murder. :3 sometimes people needs to drink more herbs to expand their understanding and find similarieties in real life and do the comparison. Will help expand their brains small capacity. :3

I understand, I’m a bit iffy on that topic but I’m just uncomfortable with the fact that Heesoo was forced and hurt. It’s one thing if Dojun was in rut and Heesoo enjoyed it, but this chapter was simply unnecessary as far as I can see, other than filling that rape cliche I mentioned before. Hey, let’s keep it respectful here. We both have clashing opinions on this, that’s fine. If an alpha knows his pheromones are being spread and they’re about to go into rut and medicine doesn’t work, they should probably go somewhere with no one else around. In this case, Dojun could’ve gone to a hotel, knowing Heesoo was at home. Regardless of if he could control it or not, there are precautions and it’s certainly not Heesoo’s fault, who was the responsible one for saying he would get the medicine. He shouldn’t never gotten hurt. However, this is just a manhwa so it doesn’t really press my buttons that much, just something I didn’t necessarily appreciate, as it wasn’t a really necessary addition.

Did you even read the chapters properly? Its mentioned it's very rare and being labeled like that, most alphas wouldn'tthink of it regularly. Do you think someone as smart as dojun would be stupid enough not to take precautions if it was normal for them? Now you're highlighting that they should be aware of themselves, how different is that from the hye sung not knowing all his life he was an alpha and going in heat unexpectedly luring dojun to him? And now you just sound like those characters blaming omegas for having heat, luring alphas and sometimes betas in their heat. So hence, if Dojun here is a rapist, omegas would be far worse as it is a regular cycle for them, and as per your words, they should take necessary precautions but which again, i repeat, they should not. It isn't heeso's fault, but more over should you label dojun as a rapist for something he have little control off. AGAIN, it is no ones fault. if you read the author's other work 'if you hate me so', you know the author has a thing for normalizing rape and the trauma caused by it. it's disgusting, but the thing with heesoo & dojun are actually mild compared to the shit in IYHMS.

"dojun was in rut". here lies the fault in the author and people who write a/b/o stuff. the author CHOSE to make ruts a thing where the alpha completely loses control of themself. he isn't thinking straight, he can't control himself blah blah, you know what this means? dojun didn't have autonomy over his body, he couldn't control his actions. he hurt heesoo fir fuck's sake, something he would NEVER do if he were able to think properly. having sex with dojun in this state is the equivalent of rape.
2. "heesoo didn't mind" heesoo more or less implied twice that they should stop and dojun should get medicine, but dojun couldn't listen. he also kept telling him that it hurt since yknow, dojun fucked him without any preparation. the moment your partner shows signs of discomfort, you're supposed to stop and remedy the situation. but again, dojun didn't/couldn't do that. this, to me, while not explicit rape, is very disturbing to see.
more than anything, the characters are victims of shitty writing. abo is such an interesting concept but people STILL stick with these rapey "i have no idea what i am doing, i have no control over my own actions" heat/rut bullshit. if you enjoy stuff like this, then it's fine, i also read stuff like this occasionally. but don't try to make excuses for this kind of behaviour and don't try to say "this is fine!!! this completely healthy and normal!!" bc it's not.

1) hyesung did not “lure” alphas towards him. Any alpha with a sense of morality knows not to touch an omega in heat. Alphas do not lose their entire sense of reason being near an omega in heat.
On a separate note, that “ruts are rare so how could he have known” part was also... not proper justification. Even if it is rare, all alphas should have a plan and medicine prepared in case. If the risk is that they would be raping anyone, no matter how rare it is, they should be prepared. Omegas hardly rape anyone because of their body physique and weakness from being in heat. However, those who do it would probably be classified under rape, as omegas should also have the proper precaution/medicine. And no I’m not talking about an omega simply standing there in heat and an alpha going up to them and letting the omega bang them, because then that alpha would be raping the omega. I’m talking about restraining/struggling, such as what Dojun’ s ex did to Heesoo.
I haven’t a single clue why authors choose to render omegas and alphas as senseless once they get their rut/heat, as it just is a giant pathway leading to a flashing “R A P E” sign, but so be it.
Also, dojun kind of knew since his pheromones were going out of control. Saying it was rare is just a half assed excuse

Let me tell you about court cases ive been in, since did study law. There is a huge difference with events situations involving mental disability with cases of assault or murder. There are defendants who are schizophrenics experiencing hallucinations which came to harm an approaching child. The schizophrenics hallucination of the child was a killer so she pushed him away leading the child to be injured. This place was a hospital were the patient was in. So tell me, was that assault and battery?

Oh, thank you- I didn’t realize this website had a blocking function. I as well am not quite sure how to compare schizophrenia to heats/ruts, but that’s simply my opinion. Omegaverse varies depending on the author, too. An example being in stories where ruts are existent in all alphas. Stories where alphas can control themselves and stories where alphas can’t. That’s takes a large part in what fuzzes the line between if this would be considered rape or not. So I don’t really blame other people for having other opinions (as long as the respect goes both ways ofc)
