Im confused lol. So did he actually care about the uke in the end? Or was it just a great coincidence for him? Like the girl he was with broke up with him, and boom the uke showed up later in the night. Did he just pretend to be considerate when he just wanted to get into his pants?
I think it's a mix. Iit seems like he likes that the uke will always love him. Aka he's using him to make himself feel useful. He seems to use his other partner too. I was hoping for more, but this is what we got.

Half of the time I just wanna read the parts where Lucia draws a line with Hugh cause I think it’s funny cause he always starts saying stuff like “oh shit did I really say that in the contract? Why was I such a dumbass??” I just like seeing him worried and anxious about all the little things he does towards Lucia and blows stuff outta proportion cause he can’t fully understand her. Cause half the time Lucia says/does something and thinks it’s not a big deal and there’s Hugh, mind running 100mph trying to understand what happened.
Other times I like to re-read the parts where Lucia is more strict or cold towards people cause majority of the time she’s really nice and understanding.
