I think it's so funny how hypocritical the yaoi community is. Most of the comments are saying that this old pedophile is a creep. I agree, he's a creepy old pedophile.

However, when this exact same situation plays out but the grown pedophile is the bottom then everyone suddenly thinks it's okay. There are so many manhwa where the adults bottom raises the child top, either as their adopted parent, much older sibling or just some random person, and then gets into a romantic and sexual relationship with the child as soon as they're a legal adult.

Why do we as a community think that only bottoms can be groomed and raped?

Yeah, no. It’s gross, grooming is grooming, no matter who the bottom is. Last time I got this pissed was over “Stranger”, where a barely 18 kid is the top and a 30 something prosecutor “saves” (grooms) him. This is my moral standing, and I stand on business no matter what. That said, I’d never go around attacking people for what they like in fiction, but I will always be vocal about my opinion.

Personally I have never seen anyone think that only the bottom could be groomed or raped but it doesn't surprise me coming from this community, unfortunately some people see the bottom as "weaker" than the top whether physically or even mentally so they have more pity for the bottom because they see him as "vulnerable"? (idk if I explain well and it's only my opinion) but it's true that the community has a problem with that, we shouldn't defend a rapist or a pedo just because he's the bottom it's completely stupid.

I can keep going. You can just look at my profile, go to already read, and look at all of the many many many many many many many many many many many many manhwa I've labeled pedo shit for examples.

Every single one of them, well almost every single one of them, has the tchild op being a child who was raised by or greatly influenced while being raised by the much older bottom. To the point where the child top becomes sexually obsessed with the adult bottom. Where the child is the sexually aggressive one.

You know, like what happens when a child is groomed. Where the groomer always says "they seduced me" and blame the sexual contact on the child. But because the top is sexually aggressive and also the child then clearly the bottom is the victim, the groomer is the victim... Just like they always portray themselves to be when they're caught. Hmm.

This is an incredibly common trope in yaoi manhwa. I would say a good half of new releases are this trope. And this community thinks it's not pedophilia or grooming.

But when the exact same thing happens when the bottom is the child the community is up in arms. Even if the bottom is the one who's obsessed with the top. "His Perfect Guide" is a great example of where that trope is reversed and the bottom is the child that is sexually obsessed with the top. Everyone realizes that the bottom is obsessed with the top because he was groomed.

I just took a look at your album and my god... The worst thing is that no one says anything in the comments; they almost like it and don't even pay attention. In "The Eternal Circumstances," we literally see in chapter 1 that the top was a child when he met the bottom, and people don't care because, as you said, he's the top, but also because it was in the past... It's really disgusting.

And you're right about the fact that when the younger one initiates the relationship, people forgive the other's actions. In "Midnight Rescue," the bottom is a high school student and the top is a police officer, and the people in the comments didn't see the problem because it was the bottom who initiated the relationship or said "if you don't like it, don't read it" ( a really shitty excuse).

One I saw a bottom grooming a top ,it was in "Houtou Musuko to Koi no Ana," and half the comments only denounced incest and not pedophilia (not that one is more serious than the other, but if you denounce one, denounce the other).

Pedophilia is far too normalized in this community. Even if there are more works where the bottom is the one being groomed, at the end of the day, bottom or top, people still won't care.

I'd love to make an album like yours, but I'm afraid pedophiles will use it. But in any case, it's pointless because if you really try to denounce it, people will still turn a blind eye, and that's why pedophilia is almost never punished.
