the world building is AMAZINGGG and everyone is so HOT

i read this back in 2017/18 without any thoughts. revisiting this again it seems heavier than i remember but that's probably bcs im now older and i can catch the nuances in the story (abt freedom, equality, etc) other than the sexy parts.
i actually really liked this one. the cheating and blackmailing part was awful, and honestly, him going all the notebook ryan gosling at the end isn’t enough to fully redeem him. but at least he changed a bit and started getting better, i guess.
the seme being an ass kind of worked for me though — not in a good way, but in a way that made the story more interesting. it fits the whole vibe of the story: four messed-up guys, all connected in some way, riding their bikes revisiting (or making) memories and regrets before the world is ending. the seme’s actions really hit that "regret" theme hard. but i kinda wish the "regret" part being more painful for him like he needs to kneel or something for forgiveness from the uke lol.
overall, i like how there’s this nostalgic and tragic vibes with the story. kinda wish it had a sad ending, just to match the tone better. but the hopeful ending it got still felt satisfying in its own way.
