What I don't like in these types of manhwa is that rape is portrayed as sex with extra steps which of course is VERY problematic. Despite that I don't think that in this case violence doesn't have a purpose (it could be less graphic though), as we see ACTUAL dialog instead of the shallow "Oh no don't". Yea we've established that they hate each other but at this point I don't think it's only about revenge but also their own inner conflicts. Both hurt and assert their dominance (in different ways) to escape from themselves too. Otherwise I think the story would've already ended with both or one of them dead.
exactly what I was thinking, the dialogue feels mature somehow, about what is happening which is rape. I keep thinking that it's no longer /a romance/ when one character commits such great violence against the other, when it becomes a victim x abuser relationship, but there's also the context that sex involves a power relationship, and it was the way that (since ancient greece I think) men subjugated other men. but like you said, if the rape scenes weren't portrayed as "here's this sexy moment between the couple for you to enjoy" then maybe it would feel less problematic

Those who think that a better punishment would be sending the father to be a Hound, just re-read the whole trial. Hounds are regarded as heroes, therefore getting the majority of the medical supplies. Even if he got killed most of the citizens would be sympathetic because a father sacrificed his life for the wellbeing of his son, albeit forced to. Whether he survived or not would be blamed on the individual, not the group as it's a post-apocalyptic society. Woojun would most likely grew up thinking that the punishment wasn't really a punishment, but a chance for his father to redeem his wrongdoings but ultimately failing to do so.
