While reading it at the beginning everything was going fine so I was thinking everyone in the comments was just overreacting but then oh boy:| This would’ve been fine if it was Stockholm syndrome where the story knew it was fucked up without the romanticization of abuse. It was a basic story of abuse being romanticized, nothing new.
I think we can all see that Haru is someone who knows what he wants and can stand up for himself if he thinks something’s not right. He knows Meiji is possessive but he likes him and he doesn’t care. He’s not agreeing with him due to him being scared or being emotionally abused, he likes Meiji and he’s fine with him. Plus at the end we can see that Haru might go abroad and Meiji doesn’t stop him, he just says that he’ll follow him over there. It’s like what he told the French dude, he’s staying in the bakery cus he wants to. Same to the friend, he’s not dating Meiji cus he’s too good or kind, he simply likes Meiji.
I guess I wouldn’t necessarily say the ending was rushed since everything fit together, but it did leave me a bit dissatisfied. I wish we would’ve gotten more details on the aftermath of everything. It was an ok read tho, short and simple.
I personally wouldn’t get together with someone who did that to me, maybe I would forgive them if they showed remorse like Glen but I wouldn’t wanna put myself at risk. I do understand why Joseph decided to stay with Glen, and I’m not really upset bc while Glen did fuck up, Joseph knows he did and it’s not like he forgave Glen. He said how he hates him but still likes him and that they’ll start anew, so that to me is him telling him that he’ll help him get better so that they can truly be happy. Kinda like stockholm syndromeish but not really I guess.
The only thing I’m really upset about is my boy Vincent >:| Like wtf, what was the point of adding him in if we’re not even going to see what happens to him. I really thought he’d be someone who would help Joseph out or smth, and yet we never even saw what happened to him after the professor assaulted Joseph. I was all warmed up to him and rooting for him, and he was just forgotten >:’( he even got a backstory and everything, yet you’re telling me he was nothing short of a mob character? My poor boy
Her dad can fuck off, I’m just sick and tired of these stories having the dad suddenly care or show some basic human affection, and we’re expected to forgive them and go aww when they interact with the MC? I get it, people can have second chances and change, but he had plenty of fucking chances. Not to mention he basically abandoned the mom and only came to pick up the MC after the mom died, AND he continued to neglect her once she was in the palace. The only reason he “changed” was because the MC spoke up and defended her mom, how dare he even care if the mom married someone else when he’s the one who never came looking for her and married someone else. I might be overreacting but I just can’t with them.
Anyways, girl stop misunderstanding that he likes Lucy and just get married already

I should’ve listened to the comments, because this was utter shit and I wasted my time reading this. He raped him, imprisoned him, after he “apologized” he raped him again, he let him go because he was “sorry” and then he regretted letting him go and tried to find him again. He never showed any fucking remorse, he’s a fucking piece of shit and the MC is so fucking stupid. How did he fall in love with the man who raped him multiple times, I’m in disbelief. I can’t even call it Stockholm syndrome because the MC wasn’t even shown to be brainwashed or anything, it was so poorly done if he was. What about Min? What the fuck happened to him, why did his stepfather want him, what the fuck is this shit. Everyone around them are horrible, they all thought it was fine and that the MC should stay with that shit bc he showed him some basic “kindness”? Even Min was all like “Uncle loves you”. The only person I liked was the rapist’s father cus he’s literally the only one who was like “Wtf are you doing you’re insane” to that shit.
This story romanticized abuse and rape, fucking horrible. This was bad in every single way, not even the sex was good, if you’re debating on whether to read this then save your time and read something that’s worth it, not this mess.
