To be honest, I really liked how this story went. I didn't really get your complaints about wanting the story to be more focused on Love and Peach's relationship and wanting intimate as in, smut scenes and stuff.
This isn't a yaoi. This is a shounen ai, and even if it mentioned sex, it would be just that, a mention, or a few panels indicating they did it. If you want sexy stuff, then you should take a look into the Yaoi genre lol.
