I really love how Terajima-sensei portray all the characters. Every growth they make and every failures they pass. I still remember reading that one chapter where Sawamura was so broken hearted because of his yips. It just shows the hard life of the athletes.
And that pressure when Sawamura became the ace. I know a lot of people are mad when he suddenly screwed up after getting that ace number, but it just shows how realistic it is when you think of it in your perspective. He was doing so good before, he had a good momentum in him, then suddenly getting the ace number put a lot more pressure on his shoulders.
