We all know thet Dan and Jaekyung are going to end up together, this is BJ Alex 2.0, because of that reason alone I could never fully hate Jaekyung, I have faith in the redemption arc, I also think he has a lot more to be redeemed for compared to Alex/Jiwon and if this story was a love triangle I would root for each ever option was healthier (I would never read it if it was a love triangle).
Jaekyung is terrible I wont deny that, but he's not worse than alot of semes in BL (,example the Semes from Non-Zero Sum)
Im Also so curious to see the switch up
Apologies for the spamming I just had a lot on my mind, this BL is what triggered my hatred for love triangles.
No matter what anyone says I dont think he was ever supposed to end up with Joowon, there were so many reasons to believe they wouldn't be end game but I think the author changed their mind to appeal to fans.
Joowon.stans did a lot as fandom, imagine the backlash she would get if they didn't end up together, you can say Im being delusional but why do you think BL.authors hide their identities because if fans knew who they were in real.life what do you tjink would happend. I will say it again writing a note to explain your end game is weird, it felt like she needee to justify it so that Taku shippers and Non shippers would understand, I mean people wanted Haesoo to be alone and she sent him to spain for 3 years, she did what people requested and the story was meant to end before it reached 100 chapters. So you can't tell me she didnt have to change the ending.
You sound like you are angry the story didn't end the way you wanted it to and so you are coming up with conspiracy theories to claim that it was meant to be your way but..... Just the fact that there were so many fans who expected it to end differently should clue you in on the fact that a lot of people didn't see the story the way you did and you might be the one in the wrong. The author may very well have intended for the story to end exactly the way it did. There are likely other stories where it ended the way you wanted it to and other fans did not like the ending. That's just the way it goes. Instead of coming up with conspiracy theories find another story you like better and read that.
Of course you would say its a conspiracy theory because you like the way it ended
And if the author did intend for it to end that way, there was no need for extended chapters..its not even side stories or an explanation about the ending. I doubt you were there when the drama was happening with the merch or the twitter wars.
I tried rereading this to see if my opinion would change and it didn't. I still absolutely hate Joowon, his arrogance, his personality are just terrible for me. I still love Taku and I think he is a way more interesting character. Haesoo is an okay character. I dont hate him but I dont love him, however i also dont ship Taku and Haesoo. I dont ship Haesoo with any of them
I read up till chapter 65 and dropped it, because Joowon was so annoying that level of arrogance made him so unlikable, up till today I will never understand why people like him, my guess is that he is very similar to your average BL seme and I guess people. like whats familiar
His dialogue in chapter.65 is the reason I wanted him to lose in the end, if he was less arrogant and more humble, even though they were stepbrothers i think I could have supported them a little, but because Joowon had such a shitty personality I couldnt.
HaesooxJoowon relationship felt forced, I hated their dynamic. It was annoying. It felt like all they did was have sex and banter. Readers wont think twice when a couple has known each other for a long time because they already have a foundation, we didnt actually see the progress of how they went from hating each other to liking each other, we may have seen a few flashbacks but we didnt actually see the full journey, I mean Joowon was just as manipulative as Taku when he first met Haesoo, but you guys don't care about that because years passeed and he knows Joowon. longer. Then there were all the obstacles, it was overly dramatic.
They made this couple the underdog, most people want the underdog to win. I still believe Yeongha was going to end the story differently but in the end chose to make the majority of the fans happy.
Theres people on here saying if you thought Taku and Haesoo would end up together you lack media literacy, thats such a dumb take for me
Note: I dont ship Haesoo with either of them.
There was so much symbolism in the story to support Haesoo moving on, from the cup breaking to the smoking metophors, unfortunately the Joowon fandom grew and that obviously made a change to the ending, the chapters got extended. Why? Stans were complaining to the author about the Joowon merch, I also heard she was getting death threats and Ive read quite a bit of love triangles and no author has ever made a note to explain why they chose to write the ending the way they did, it was weird.

I’ve always preferred stories where the MC chooses the new love over the old. They remind us that no matter how long we’ve known someone, it’s possible to move on. Too many couples stay together just because it feels safe, familiar, or tied to shared trauma, and that isn’t real growth.
TJ is the old love. He and Ian went through hell together, but what they share is more codependency than chemistry. Jo is the new love, and the fact that he didn’t grow up in that same toxic environment isn’t a flaw. It’s exactly why he’s the healthier choice. Healing means stepping away from what hurt you, not clinging to it because it’s all you know.
If Jo and TJ had entered Ian’s life at the same time, Jo would be the obvious choice. TJ only has the advantage of history.
