For a moment I forgot how toxic and immoral this plot was bc of the art and I almost gave the guy credit bc he switched positions when he noticed and then asked if it hurt (aka the bare minimum). I was literally almost touched, like a dumbass. As if this isn’t about two stepbrothers fucking, with one of them being under hypnosis…
You just get so used to semes’ being like “that’s okay if it hurts, it doesn’t matter to me/you’ll get over it” (even if they’re bleeding!!) that one example of scant consideration from a seme has you losing memory of the horrible plot
I really hate the toxicity of it too.
Like, even in gay clubs were we fuck in the backrooms with strangers, and some of the nastiest guys that don't give a fuck about swapping cum and STDs-- you'll still get men that stop when the bottom says he needs a break. And then they move on to the next bottom, or just jerk off.
But these women artists are so heteronormative driven, that they don't know how gay men care about consent.
Even bdsm users especially care about consent.
We’ll get the FL/Yuri isekai story we deserve I’m so tired of authors including a female character who “falls” for the MC (although they put it in a joking way, tho they do lay in thick with the jealousy in some stories) but then they do nothing with it :c not that this story is the one that I particularly want it for, but you know some variety would be nice
I kinda knew they would assimilate since I saw the tie to a personality disorder, but that doesn’t stop me from being disappointed. As someone that’s working towards a psych degree, it’s super unrealistic, but not even in a satisfying way if that makes sense. I’m not saying that stories need to be 100% realistic all the time, but if the story’s main conflict is about mental health, you’d think they’d do more research /: I was kinda hoping they’d be different and keep the second personality (if they wanted to be interesting, have him take over although that’s not exactly the ideal for real life situations) but alas. Literally reminds me of every kdrama I’ve seen that has DID where they make the second personality more interesting(not necessarily better) or more appealing and then they realize they have to backtrack and suddenly show more of the “OG” personality bc they want them to assimilate for their rainbows and unicorn ending…
Yeah, unless the dude is in therapy and is receiving specialized mental health services that have knowledge of the disorder (especially since it’s a more rare disorder). it would be incredibly unlikely for the person to simply assimilate by the power of love (lol). This is even more true considering that people that even receive such mental health services may not even be diagnosed first with DID considering the symptoms can resemble other mental health symptoms of other disorders (borderline/bipolar depending on the other personality fragments’ actions). There’s also the fact that people with mental health issues tend to have comorbidity, aka coinciding disorders or illnesses such as depression and anxiety.
Ah finally someone said this! As much as I enjoyed how the story turned out, I can't help but feel the way his DID is simply resolved by love which apparently cures all is unrealistic. But we all love good endings right (me too), so I'm okay with it. It's just I hope people don't immediately assume that love can cure all, even the worse of psychological disorders :)
Sure, you’re definitely allowed to enjoy whatever you’d like. However the opposite does exist at the same time: people are also allowed to dislike things as well. Not to mention, applying my degree to whatever media I read actually helps because I know when I’m seeing red flags that may not be so obvious to others (not that it fully applies in this circumstance). Believe it or not, there are people that actually fall for these topics without any sort of doubt about the logic so it always helps to have at least someone who points out the things that are unrealistic. No doubt there are teenagers/younger people who have not had access to research that in turn DO have access to this type of media, so I don’t see anything wrong with providing the realistic advice to them. As someone who likes to question the media that they read, I feel no shame using my psych degree because I worked hard to have that knowledge. If you would like to not question whatever you read at all, go ahead. It’s fully within your right (●’◡’●)

Personally I love how it’s taking it’s time for the romance. I’ve read so many of these types of stories where within the 10th chapter they already have feeling and are hit by Cupid’s arrow….somehow?? Even tho they’ve only known each other for a week in-story or something whereas here the time that’s passed does feel real because of the gradual changes in relationships amongst the many members of the family. But I like this. It satisfies my desire for plot (it’s actually a relatively interesting plot and not so convoluted that it makes you wonder if the author even knew what they were going for) + the scenes and the art do such a good job at making the dreadful/heart wrenching events feel that much more heavy.
It’s very realistic in that of course she wouldn’t immediately be swooning, she’s got basically plates full of stuff to worry about. Not to mention the whole him being responsible for her death directly multiple times & albeit indirectly and not his fault, her father’s. Also, her husband has some emotional communication problems (fortunately not in a frustrating way but in a very relatable/within reasonable means). It’s not even that he’s being obvious and she’s stupid (thank god), there just isn’t any sort of sign until recently that he’s viewing her in a rosy light. They’ve had time to get to know each other and how they treat the people around them and /that’s/ why they’re leaning into each other, rather than damn they’re hot/pretty which is great and all, but tiring if that’s the entire plot for 50+ different manga/manhwa…
Anyway, this long ass rant just to say that it’s been a while since I’ve come across a romance manhwa where the characters actually feel like people bc you can empathize/sympathize with their perspective, know their motives and values, and just like average joe people in the real world, struggle with their emotions and past
fr like the struggle Pereshati had when she found out he was indirectly responsible for her father's death?? Where she just wanted to get it over with even at the expense of the Lapileon's honor and then she suddenly sees Celphi outside, and she suddenly remembers her promise. Like girl is out here feeling human emotions. Like the development is so real, like you can actually see them as normal humans given how we would have reacted the same given their circumstances.
Yes! You could /feel/ her nausea when she realized that had she continued with the vengeful and hateful decision she had decided on in the heat of the moment and used the evidence of their blood, she would basically become a child murderer since the kids would have also been killed. How would she be any different than the people who killed her father?
It was really interesting because you couldn’t blame her since everything was true: they technically were at fault (their blood being toxic but also apparently them not paying close enough attention that their blood was being sold) so there was a possibility for the reader to get swept up in the furor but if they did then they also had that cold moment of reality. It was especially poignant since she herself had said she was going to be his mom. So an added layer: his new parent being the cause of his death
Anyway enough outta me lol, I’m just over here writing paragraphs for no reason
