Because the MC is closed off to everyone and anyone except fir his brother. The love interest is completely tone deaf to MC and his interests. Like, completely. He just managed hit the nail on the head with music. ML is perceptive as hell. I actually think he's using the best approach because tbh, it's not that easy to get a person to be emotionally attracted to you when you are actively pining for another or mourning the loss of it. Physically affection however, is different. From what I've seen so far, he's also been respectful of the Mc's boundaries. They haven't done anything without consent and MC has been made aware that ML intends to go after him while he's emotionally vulnerable. That's kind of the premise of the manga.
Plus I think the manga makes it clear that it's not only physical - he just makes it seem that way because that's what MC wants. ML suggested: "let's just date" and then all of chapter 3 when he got him to open up, and other moments when he interferes after the brother interacts with MC because he notices MC catching feelings. Or the fact that he noticed he looked like he was crying on day 1, and then how uncomfortable he was surrounding by all the girls and that promiscuous band member (glasses). Give him more credit guys
