I come back after my main email gets banned (which was used also used for my x acc, tiktok, insta etc.) AND I COME BACK TO FIND OUT EUJA HAD A CRASHOUT ON X, SINCE WHEN!??! LMFAOOO why did she crash out tho???

someone posted a screenshot of the recent chapter and she commented “the official english translation is only available up to episode 3, so where are you reading my story?” insinuating that the person is reading her story on an illegal website. she then made several comments talking about how people who translate and read illegal translations should disappear off the earth, and how if people think she’s a bully then they should just get off her page bc she’s going to continue calling out the illegal readers. While, I think her being upset toward ppl reading her story illegally is expected, her one million followers started to harass the guy that originally posted the screenshot. they sent him death threats and were bullying him until he went private and she knew that, she knew that her followers were attacking this teenager and didn’t tell them to stop. Also this teenager lives in a country where queer media is banned, so there was no way for him to purchase the story legally as it wasn’t available to him. The author knew that as well and said that it wasn’t her problem and that she doesn’t believe the “excuse of poverty” as in just bc you don’t have the money doesn’t mean you should pirate stories since you don’t need them to live.

Euja is one of many authors that has taken a harsh stance against illegal translations for years. Another author literally stopped writing their comic because of illegal translations and The Painter of the Night author threatened to sue this website before. It's honestly not surprising it happened and I don't feel bad for the 18 year old being called out (although they shouldn't be given death threats). Apparently the 18 year old is known for harassing other people who buy the legal translations and has stolen credit for unofficial translations, so it isn't surprising that they were called out (especially because it seems they interact with Euja's account a lot so their posts appearing to Euja was no surprise).

I get the fact she was angry about someone reading illegally but sending death threats is a whole different story, and the fact she knew her fanbase was sending the poor guy threats and she didn't do anything shows, so people getting mad at her is actually reasonable, still tho she shouldn't act like that and as for the guy I understand his point since he can't buy the chapters legally cuz of his country fair enough, but uploading a screenshot of an illegal site to something like x was kinda dumb tho, no hate to him I get he was feeling excited about the chapter, but thats how I see the situation

I mean I agree death threats are too much, and it doesn't excuse anyone of being a dick. However, a while ago Euja had already stated again (empahsis on AGAIN) that people shouldn't read her story illegally. So while I understand the excitement/barriers to read something, you still shouldn't directly interact with the author AND upload unofficial translations on social media. You are not only risking yourself but other translations and entire websites. The 18 year old should take this as a lesson to block authors then post unofficial translations.
Not to say Euja isn't being harsh, but this has been a topic she has been harsh about before so it's not like I expected her to be chill about it. If she gets mad about this, she could go to the company to try and sue websites/translation groups, so I say don't poke the bear ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
All bc of this fuckery we nearly lost this site
