I’m just at chap 1 for now but I can say that the conversations between the characters are more interesting than those in most bl mangas (or any romance). I refer for instance to this chat about the difference between female and male bonding. It makes a point + shows several aspects of characters’ personality.
Usually the chitchats are more shallow, they are just here to pave the way to the bed

It’s kind of weird the way the author takes side in the note. In direct speech, an author is usually more « objective » regarding the love interests -or all the characters in general. One of the reason is the rule « show don’t tell » : you let the reader decides if a character acts in a bad way by depicting him... you don’t need to tell it as well.
Also I think the writer let herself be convinced by the readers concerning Khaol’s personality because the novel was more pro-Khaol : he was intended to be the main love interest for sure.
For the most part I am not complaining because we have a bunch of stories that show a relationship between a powerful, cold, kind-of-toxic (or just toxic lol) man and a naive, nice guy. So a change is welcomed

nah, if you read the author's notes you'd at least have an idea that the author thought deeper about the whole khaol role than that. this is too conventional, crossing towards obsolete, of a standard to view the author and assume how readers could perceive the story. having said that, the author's comment definitely felt to me less of an fyi but more of a solidarity with readers picking up the character as for what he is

It is like I said, the author is choosing the less conventionential path for her story. Which is good. So yes, she thinks « deeper » but not to the point of intending the twist since the beginning. In most of the case authors foreshadow a little bit what make their story original. If they just foreshadow the cliché relationship (and not the non-cliché one) then they are not good seller.
This is one of the reason apart from the fact that the author was very much pro-Khaol in the novel as I said earlier, even when he was an ass. She used to write more « background » in order to explain his behaviour, etc. She admitted that she realized later the unbalance between khaol / river relationship. Which is great

wait, the novel is finished? andd did khaol and river ended up as a couple? T.T plssssssss i need to knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
I didn’t understand something concerning chapter 14.5. I would be grateful if someone can enlighten me. in the second part of the chapter, Yumeno (boyfriend of mc / ex-harasser) and his parents are talking about the fact that mc is coming over. They are visibly still together so it means they didn’t have other relationships. BUT, yumeno mother says at some point « your dad was also like this when you brought your wife, Rie, home ». By the way, yumeno has his kid on his lap. So I don’t understand... What wife ?? Did he got one in the meantime...? I am puzzled by this statement
Thats tarous mom and bro (who had a wife and kid) talking about tarou and mishima coming
In chapter 6 page 7 you can see he has siblings and that is his brother
Thanks. (I thought she was referring to Tarou with third person because Japanese do use third person in that way. But my mistake)
