Some consensual sex (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

Becky07 July 7, 2020 1:39 am

I just read the two or three first chapter but I’m not continuing. The way the mc and her subscribers talk about the guy is disgusting. They objectify him and judge him on his values (they assume that he might be impotent, mc calls him freack... This is toxic masculinity in a nutshell). I find it disgusting when I hear someone treating a girl like that, so I don’t see why I would not feel the same if it’s a guy.
Moreover, I hear a lot of people saying that “men just think with their cock”, “showing them tits is enough to seduce them”, etc... It is meant in a bad way, so why now is it also bad to act the contrary ? (I’m talking about the mc behavior that is viewed as negative too). These expectations are definitely toxic.

Bruh it's just girl talk. Do you have friends?

Becky07 July 6, 2020 6:24 am

I don’t understand why so many mc of Josei who are in their 30s act like dumb teenagers, especially when it comes to love. This is kind of grostesque

(Is there an explanation ? A social one maybe ? I genuinely ask myself the question)

Same. I think it's become an archetype at this point. I can only blame the authors for not being able to create mature female characters. Maybe this one's different?

Thank you, I’m going to have a look. (The title sounded familiar to me, it’s because I heard about the novel whose the manga is adapted from)

The MCs in Harlequin Romance Novels are not better...

Yes I agree I don’t think this is only in mangas

    n0body July 12, 2020 11:03 pm

josei authors grew up on dumb shojo heroines and naturally they want to age up protagonists in their works to match the authors age, but they haven't adjusted the maturity level to match

Yooooo this recommendation was great. I ended it up bingeing it and enjoying it all. It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a historical josei story this much. I think I may even take up reading the novel.

    Nice. Glad you enjoyed it.

I think it’s refreshing to see a man lead (Isaac) that is more cute/ sweet than manly - or at the least the two first characteristics mentioned are more emphasized than usual.
Also, when Giselle told Isaac that he was cute he was not offended. He was even happy about it. Whereas, in both fiction and real life (and this kind of annoys me), a lot of guys feel offended when they are called cute as a compliment. Certainly because of this idea that « a guy has to be strong and manly » (which is BS by the way).

Me talking about my life lol : I am a bit fussy when it comes to attraction. And when I am attracted by a guy, it is often a cute one, that doesn’t look typically manly. I though they would embrace their own type of attractiveness but no, because of stereotypes, they still are unhappy being considered cute, etc.

I agree with the manly stereotype but in this episode case I was surprised that he wasn't angry, because normally when you say "I like you " and get a response like "yea u're cute" it doesn't sound really sincere see? Like something like "I like you too " is much more expected and it feels less superficial as a response .

GURL FR!!!!!!! So many guys out there just hate being called cute!!! Like why bitch! I LIKE ME SUM CUTE MANZ!!! I LOVE HOW HAPPY HE WAS!!! Such a cute baby. Their relationship is goals. The gurl def teases him and he is just so cute following her around and just listening to her and loving her.

Mc is pretty stupid to record himself with a product picked (stolen) from the store, just after asking Arte to subscribe to him (he can see that obviously). Wtf

    Mochiiro_ai June 18, 2020 1:13 am

    YEA I think the MC is stupid too..and actually, I don't really like MC(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

I remember this manga from yeeeaarrs ago. At least 4 years ? I can’t believe this is still ongoing.
Even if I found it really cute when I used to read it, I am bored by stories that drag to much. So I am glad I didn’t continue.

    Wow.....Hear the hater lol

Wow... and hear the person who don’t understand subtlety and just see everything in black and white 0_o Because I say I don’t like stories that drag too much, I am a hater now ? Where is the logic ?

    Grow up a little bit

Lol. I see the world GRAY & did u ever hear, if u got nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all. If u wasn’t reading he manga y comment on it, u could just ignore it.

    kumbanj June 21, 2020 4:46 pm

If you don't mind asking: What exactly do you mean by "drag too much"? Manga that simply run relatively long or just manga that seem like they get stretched?
Since if it is the second option, you might want to give it another try. Not saying the manga never drags or stretches, because it certainly does (and mostly always because of Yuuki..), but overall it has developement, it does go forward and most of the time it does not feel stuck in a place. It actually feels like the author still has a plan and is not simply stretching for the moneyzzz.

Omg i never comment on anything but fr thank you. At first it was cute but by Ch. 34 it was starting to get annoying. The girl being strong and hard headed is cute but it starting to get so damn annoying.

I only read mc + Cain scenes because the other two are a bit too toxic

Becky07 May 16, 2020 12:18 am

The male lead called the mc « plain guy ». Oooh Isn’t it nice ??? Such a good flirt (sarcasm)

Becky07 May 16, 2020 12:11 am

I am just at chapter one but seriously, the Mc was in the bar to protect his brother right ? Because being this naive, distracted and passive it doesn’t looks like it’s the case. I thought this story would be good in term of characters too but hell no....

Becky07 April 27, 2020 11:07 pm

I simply don’t understand how a guy who cheats is more hated than a rapist in this plateform
Like ugh
