On Manta (it’s an app and website)
It works with a subscrition system so you pay 3.99$ per month. Even if you read one manwha regularly it’s cheaper than paying for each episodes individually
So yeah, even if you can’t afford for more than a month, don’t forget to support the author ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
I hate how the story make excuses for the mother’s behavior witch BS such as « she didn’t know how to communicate with her child », as if that is a good reason for abuse #-.-)
Not saying that the father was any better though since he basically did nothing during Mc’s childhood
The BS hits close to home since I have similar parents and they would rather say stuffs like « we didn’t know how to handle you » rather than admit they are toxic people
The definition of abuse is not limited to physical agression and letting one’s starve. If that’s what you think, then that downplays all the others types of abuse (such as psychological) and their victims.
When it comes to neglect though, yes she definitely neglected her. The fact that she bought Mc dresses doesn’t mean she took care of her...
Finally, when it comes to the mother cutting Mc’s hair, that is not the only reason why I talked about « abuse », I took all of her actions into consideration. Even though, this scene definitely shows the signs of an abusive behavior and « being angry » is never a good reason.
Ok stop cause we missing a huuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggge chunk of her life to begin with and if you go back and see how they greet each other there is no way she was abused. Fl felt upset that she was kept out of the loop and that her mother didn't like her being a magician and that her father was hardly there but that about it. we honestly dont know anything from age 7ish - 17.......
We don’t decide whether or not someone was abused by the way they greet their potential abusor, that is not a reliable proof.
I am judging the mother on the scenes from Mc’s childhood. We have a timeline of how the mother educated her child and it’s pretty clear. We can make our assumptions because that’s the purpose of these flashbacks. And if you say that these are not enough for us to think that Mc was mistreated, then you can’t say for sure that she was not either.
Omg I’m wheezing! This is so cool and cute! I loved this chapter and it’s so nice that it got updated right when I was rereading the raws because I couldn’t wait! X’D I like Ripley, she makes the story fun and dynamic and with the duke, they make an entertaining bickering couple x)

In chapter 35 there is a very cute kiss

I loved this a lot, I don’t have the words ╥﹏╥ (▰˘◡˘▰)
That’s what I call a good romance: a Mc with emotional depth, a couple who grow together and work for it, a development which relies on their self esteem issues rather than dramatic misunderstandings.
And cherry on top, the themes tackled are things that everyone is familiar about (it’s not specific to rich people, gangsters, abandoned child or others common-yet-not-that-much-IRL characters). I felt a bit emotional during this story because Mc’s thoughts are hella relatable to me
