It does take a while to get into it and it's still reasonably boring when shit gets dragged out bc the ML is such a coward, but it does come around by the end. I mean, qfter all the frickin fuss, WHY THE FUCK DIDNT THEY SHOW THE MC'S REACTION WHEN ML FINALLY ADMITTED HIS GRAND MIDDLE SCHOOL MISTAKE TF. The story fpcusing so much on angst and moping that it comepletely sidetracked monumental shit. Like fuck, the side couple showed more monumental growth than the main couple. Despite them having done it in like 5-10 episodes overall.

Reading this felt like watching 2 elders reunite after 50 years in a most slow paced "remember that sus reason I broke up with you? I'm still scared the truth will tear us apart despite having already lost x years anyway bc I was an idiot coward annoyed by the prospect of atonement that would have taken less tome than the time we were apart. So gove me 1 more chance? (It was second chance Ig but in reality it was his 3rd chance)"

The poor MC is no better than him though, while the MC runs away from reality of possible anguish, ML decides to run toward it every single time tragedy strikes and a family member is held hostage by medical bills. In the end they deserve each other I guess. "Oh I don't deserve happiness when this shit happens /woe me/"

In the end ypu have to be as persistent as the top in the side couple relationship to make ot to thw end. 63 chapters felt like 103 chapters. Sort of a blessing onndisguise since it feels like the firat time I'm not depressed right after a story finally ended. Literally I'm thankful it's over. After all that we didn't even get a smidge of them being more open and expressing their feelings and relationship in front of their families in a distant future .
