I don't really get why people hate her this much, but I do think she shouldn't have lied, and instead should have said something like, "I can't be with you" When she got the seal she immediately checked to see if he had one, and she was told that he didn't, so she completely believes that she won't get to be with Azeph (think that's how you spell it) even if she loves him. He's the one that's persisting and, while knowing she's going to push him away. She doesn't want to hurt him and see him turn into that, and she doesn't want to fall deeper herself. Also he wouldn't turn like that just from hearing her say she doesn't love him. In the novel it was a combo of her rejecting him, and going to be with the person he hates, so he shouldn't turn just from this. He might go and kidnap her, but that's something completely different. I really don't see why people hate her this much, she's not the best, but she's not a bad person, and if you don't like her personality, stop reading. I see that she's trying to cut him off as soon as possible, and she doesn't just want to announce to a lot of aristocrats that she has a seal, probably because she'll be heart broken from having to reject Azeph, while everybody else will probably be trying to find her partner so they can get together and get engaged. That's why you don't say that shit in front of a crowd.
It's yaoi, which means that it isn't just romance, I am so looking forward to seeing the development of the romance and the sex scene, this is gonna be one hell of a ride.

Why are people insulting the translation, idk if it’s just me but I could read it just fine and only found one thing that was obvious. I get that people have different standards, but this is way better than some Chinese translations that people are comparing it to, those have many obvious things about them that are messed up, while (to me) this only has a few mistakes. I can comprehend what’s going on and understand what each character is saying and it makes sense in context for me. I’m very happy this is getting translated and I’m thankful for the translators.
