I’m not gonna lie. I’m lowkey fangirling over the evil queen because yesss badass and smart! Then we have out FL who is also badass and smart oh how I love smart confident women. The queen’s only flow is her raising a dumb son but I guess she wanted him as a puppet king.
Yeah, she's a good character, I don't mind her as she acts smart and isn't annoying unlike her very stupid son... She probably told him all his life he was always gonna be the next king so he didn't have the will to study and be better and now that he's an adult he's just so stupid....

So she hasn't reappeared and her death has been faked out twice now. The first time when the MC first arrived, hence needing to prove her innocence, and again, a second time about half way through. There's a minor plot around it but it gets "resolved" so effortlessly, that it honestly feels anticlimactic. It's built up as important but one little acting session in front of a crowd and some tears and poof! No longer an issue. It's implied that she's still alive and from what context clues I picked up, I'm betting it's a typical cliche of "Oh no, the temple has her and his hidden her away for xyz reason." Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the story but it's full of cliches and so far feels almost predictable. In a way, it's very similar to Kill the Villainess, so if you enjoyed that, you'll like this, but there's many small moments that give me deja vu. It's not exactly the same but it feels very similar to me in ways I can't fully articulate.
