I couldn’t really get into the second couple? Like, it was pretty damn rapey (although the first one was also but to a lesser extent) and it was kind of forced. It was pretty much tossed at us in the beginning and was like “yea, this’ll be a thing”. The first couple was kind of interesting to me at least bc of the magic and witches and stuff. The second couple is all about sex. And sex. And politics. Although yes, the first was about sex and sex and some magic. But I’m not really into all of the political sht that went on. Also, the little girl.... did she really serve a purpose? The stuff that happened afterwards would’ve still happened and it felt like she was stuck in to be like “we need more chapters and also there has to be some witches left.” Which reminds me. El said that the only two witches left were him and the girl. But earlier on, he mentions that the lady who appeared when he was killing the prince got away. And that there were likely other, I suppose, colonies of witches out there.
The dude who became king... due to a lack of interest, I skimmed through his part but he wouldn’t make a good ruler. He is extremely sick (unless that got cured and I just overlooked it) and even if he wasn’t anymore, he still missed out on YEARS of education from the time he stayed bedridden. I’m not saying that he shouldn’t have become king bc the title usually goes to the eldest, I’m simply calling bs to the fact that he was able to run a country without totally bringing it down, even with help.
I personally prefer S1 over S2. It was more interesting, with the smut being at least slightly balanced with the story. The strange cuts mid chapter to a different couple were less prevalent, and I think it took the magic and stuff and actually ran with it, unlike S2 that just kind of dropped it and only mentioned it a little bit when needed. For example, when El enters the city, it must’ve been really loud right? Yet you never see him even mention it until he slightly hears the other guy (sorry, I’m bad with names) mention it.
Yeah, I think that’s all I feel like mentioning lol.
Overall is probably 6 or 7 out of ten bc the sex was hot and the first season was pretty okay.
Someone needs to tell this guy that adults do in fact scream into their pillow and roll around on the floor on their free days when nobody is looking.
