Kind of conflicted on the fact that the sole darker complexion character is a disguise
Historical accuracy in a fantasy world, especially a romance genre, I both approve and disapprove. The clothes, the buildings, the titles- cool. But… If the author can make a duke fall in love with a fallen noble that he barely knows for the sake of plot armor, I’m pretty sure she can mess with things like ethnicity within the historical accuracy too. So I’m in agreement with your comment.
I'm reading the latest update because I pity Dan and want to see him getting better and find amazing people to live with. But I'm sick to my stomach that a violent rapist and evil man like Jaegang get a redeem arc. More like *show dark past to forget about him being an abuser*. I hoped at least the readers would commit to hating his gut till the end, no matter if some reasons were given about his behavior
. I'm honestly kind of disappointed ......
