heyy everyone has their own different ways of interpreting the novel. Good for you if you can accept it immediately but there are some people who will take lots of time to accept the fact that they are not outsiders. Also idk about you but the knowledge of the future, knowing that the guy(ML) who likes you is destined to be with someone else to be "saved", that you're not really the end game and you'll prolly be a "past time" gf, will haunt me throughout the duration that we're dating. We're deflect the things we know that will hurt us. I'll prolly experience impostor syndrome 24/7((which i know is toxic but still...) especially with my personality. So I can't blame the fls trying not to see the ml that way... i do understand it being boring as a trope tho but i think it's reasonable enough which is why it's an overused cliche.
