Ignorance by choice can be seen as a fault, but sometimes, ignorance is simply the result of one's upbringing, environment, and limited understanding of the world. Not everyone has the privilege of seeing the world’s many faces, and it’s unfair to condemn someone for what they genuinely didn’t know.
I strongly believe the FL shouldn’t be made to feel guilty for her ignorance. At that time, she was still relatively young—not a child, but young enough to still live within the boundaries of a small world. To her, that world felt complete, like it was all there was.
Sure, she had doubts—who doesn’t? Even those who’ve seen the vastness of life carry their uncertainties. I guess I just feel bad for her. No one seems willing to cut her some slack. Her world didn’t fall apart piece by piece, giving her time to adapt. It collapsed all at once—a landslide of reality that continues to leave damage in its wake.

So hard to believe and remember every now and then that children aren't always pure. They aren't children who loves their mother as much as she loves them, and whines when they want attention and that flowery affection. Some simply bare darkness in them, and this darkness may be directed at the most unexpected people. It's so sad to know that of all people this darkness is directed to, it was towards their mother who actually feels genuine love for them instead of their father who was strict and was still trying to love them as his beloved's children (he does not deserve it too though, since he's trying).
