not to get all dr. phil, but the uke definitely has no sense of self-worth or self-preservation, which a lot of the times stems from childhood abuse or relationship abuse, etc.
i hope that the author did not write the character to be so passive without a reason and that they did their research. rather, i hope that they didn't write the uke just to be like this as a 'quirky personality trait'. to me, that just wouldn't make sense.
I'm going to give the writer the benefit of the doubt and hope the backstories will be explained in the future. but i will disappointed if, as it turns out, the characters are underdeveloped and the uke was written this way on a whim
