Of course another explanation is that all the characters died. i.e. the parents in the fire, Juju killed by the kidnappers, Young Do killed by the mantis. And the MC and ML met in the afterlife with the ML now able to take care of him. I’m just glad that the MC and ML had at lease a few fleeting moments of happiness.
Fuck I hate tragedies. I wish I never read this because my heart can’t take it.
But it was beautifully written and unconventional, just confusing.

Such a beautifully told story with such a confusing last few chapters. I know it was quite metaphorical and a lot was taking place in the MC’s sub conscious, but I wish it was clarified.
I think there are so many possibilities that it’s hard to say exactly what’s real.
One possibility is that he’s actually in a mental hospital and Young Da came to visit him when he was older. I think it’s possible the the old man actually didn’t kill Young Da because he recognised him when he caught the statue.
When Young Da meets Giju, he meets Giju as a child. I think Giju has reverted to a childlike state at this point.
But because of maybe schizophrenia, all these things come to him in a fragmented fashion. When his mother encourages him to dive further down I think he’s escaping reality and hiding deep into his subconscious. I think he was always slowly losing his mind, but Yuju dying finally drove him mad.

I don’t know if you remember, but after the scene where they meet the mantis disguised in a monk, it says that he’s the one who will kill youngdo. It’s such a beautiful but tragic story, they all succumbed to their fate. But with the last panel I can tell for sure that giju and youngdo reunited in the afterlife.

I mean I know orange hair is a plot device to create drama but he’s so fucking annoying. Like Dude. Even if you’re ugly you can still charm people with your personality. But your personality is uglier than your rotten face.
(Side note - I loved that he was ignored when they were walking away and that’s what drove him crazy)
And I’m just stating facts you bitch - be honest with yourself and stop trying to hit on guys that are so far out of your league.
People act like looks aren’t everything but they kinda are.
That’s why we’re all on this site reading about hot guys doing hot things.

This is a power bottom to END all power bottoms. I can almost guarantee you that there will never be a bottom more powerful than this one.
I want him to slap me and sit on my face.
As a couple they look so good together. I just wish he would communicate properly with his brother about why he beat him up back in the day and why he has him locked up. But then there would be no plot.
Also.. I need his boss to die ASAP

One thing I’ve been seeing a lot recently and what I HATE more than anything is the uke’s anus tearing.
I’d prefer any other form of violence rather than this.
There’s a lot of sexual violence in manhwas now. But I find this particularly egregious because of the very specific visual representation of the uke’s pain.
Manhwa’s have been getting MUCH more violent these past few years, particularly with sexual violence of increasing intensity. I’m not sure what’s driving this but it makes me really uncomfortable.
Yes, I know the rape argument is getting old, and I do understand the potential value of fictional rape as a firm of catharsis/ a potential outlet for dealing with trauma etc. I also get the negative ramifications of the fetishisation of rape. But I’m specifically referring to the increasingly violent nature of the rapes in manhwa. Of course, this is mirrored by the increasingly intense and painful sex even if the sex is consensual.
So that begs the question: is all sex in manhwa now gravitating towards a version of BDSM?
Other than that, this story is really intriguing. I just hope it doesn’t end up with them falling for each other like every single rapey manhwa, but it’ll probably end up this way.

Just to add more information: increasingly violent and sadistic sex is also becoming more prevalent in real life especially in heterosexual relationships with woman bearing the brunt of this. This is due to the influence of pornography, with more pornography nowadays involving the humiliation and subjugation of the female.
If we consider the assertion that the uke is often a proxy for the female partner in mangas and manhwas (which has proven to be the case for a number of years now) then the prevalence makes sense when compared to real life.
Just to add - in real life gay relationships, there is an increasing fetishisation for being more submissive in the part of the bottom, but I’ve found that it’s more “pretend”, and the need to be dominated is most often coming from the bottom.
Contrast this with heterosexual relations where the need to be dominant is more often coming from the make partner with the female just acquiescing. (Of course this is not always the case). And there’s also the disparity in physical strength between males and females.
There are even cases of women (unintentionally on the part of the man) dying during sex due to choking i.e. the male partner having an asphyxiation fetish, but lacking the experience to know the limits.
Anyways, sorry for the essay. I just needed to put into words what I’ve been feeling but haven’t full expressed until now.

For me, the sequel was better even than the original. And the original was already so good.
The seme’s (i.e Kyouichi’s) monologues. It’s like poetry.
This is just a Masterpiece and I was balling my eyes out in Chapter 3 and 4.
And the fact that love could be so painful. Not at all like it is in the movies. This continuous trying to build a bridge between two people that could never actually truly understand how the other feels. Or the depth of their love. Or trying to communicate the depth of our love to them. Fuck me.
The reality is that for all of us, no matter how much we love someone we can never know how they truly feel because they are an individual. But we try so hard to close the gap. Even though we know it’s impossible. But we still try. Because of love.
One thing confuses me though. In Chapter 4 page 153 to 157 - whose words were those?
It definitely started off as the seme’s (Kyouichi’s) but did it end with the uke’s?
His childhood was defined by a specific cake. The thing he always wanted to eat from his mum.
Now he has another cake to fixate on (cake not cakes you dirty bitch). This new cake, representative of Jiho’s love helped him taste again.
He’s finally able to move on. Perhaps not fully healed, but he can move on a bit, and is making progress with healing.
