I think for my own sanity, I need to think of this as smut and not an actual story with a plot.

I remember in the original story, he wasn’t a bad character. He was unpleasant a lot, but badass, and cutely in love with his boss. He was also jealous of the ML because his boss liked the ML.
What stood out to me though was when the ML was in hospital and he took the MC/uke outside to talk. He didn’t have to do that and he was awkward but did it anyway. He listened to the uke, and told him what he could about the seme’s past.
So he’s not some sort of character that needs to be punished by rape/ domination as a justification of his past actions (i.e. besides being a gang member).
But I think the author wants us to see him get in touch with his emotions and stop being so uptight etc. But yeah. This ain’t the way to do it.
It’s so unfair that his death happened offscreen. We didn’t get to see him suffer. Really suffer. Why did we have to see the MC get raped multiple times, see that one twin get gangraped, but see nothing for Choi Bitch?
If the author was using the eye for an eye trope, why couldn’t we have seen Choi bitch get gangraped?
Of course, I don’t necessarily want to see a rape, but I think it would have been better for the author to show us the proper suffering and death of the primary antagonist. He barely suffered compared to the twins and the main characters.

Just to add. I think the seme (I mean Kyouichi) actually fell harder in love than the uke.
I know it doesn’t seem that way but if you read his inner thoughts, he was terrified that the uke would change the way he felt. And he honestly believed the relationship was hurting the uke. He also felt that it would be easy for the uke to find another man but the seme could never be with another man because the uke was the only one for him. He was actually much more insecure than he ever let on. Kyouichi was actually straight. No even bisexual. I don’t think he would ever have slept with another man if he wasn’t coerced into it in the prequel. And I don’t think he was ever attracted to a man sexually before now.
I think he just needed time to process his feelings, especially due to the fact that he used to always be swept away by his previous partners and, of course that his current partner was a man.
In think that this time, he really wanted to be sure that he wasn’t just being swept away and that his feelings were genuine. And he’s never been offended when his previous partners made it clear that he wasn’t good for them, but he was really hurt when it came to his current partner.
