So yes, the rape is not over :/ The silver haired ex friend (whose name I can't remember) turns out to be a mutation who can grow tentacles (and I'm sure you can see where this is going). The mutation dude kills all the people, MC grabs a gun but it's yoinked by the mutation before he's grabbed. The mutation reminisces on how he liked the MC before, you guessed it, he starts raping the MC with the tentacles and his own dick. The ML finally comes out of the woods and tries stabbing the mutation in the chest, ripping the MC away. The mutation stops him and throws the ML away again, grabbing the MC and continuing the rape. The ML then grabs the mutation, ripping him away from the MC, but he continues running, pulling him as far from the MC as possible, before running him and the mutation off a cliff. The MC passes out, and when he wakes up, he walks over to the cliff ledge, staring down.
That's the most recent raw chapter, so we don't know if the ML or mutated ex friend is dead (heh) or not or gone for good, which I'm sure it's not the end of the ML. But what a surprise, the ML was willing to sacrifice himself in order to save the MC

I read the original novel in the hopes that perhaps it would offer a redemptive or meaningful ending, but unfortunately, that was wishful thinking. The story only continues to descend into deeper psychological and physical torment. Eventually, the uke chooses to stay with the seme, not out of love or healing, but due to long-term manipulation and isolation. The seme confines him to a single room and treats him like a pet—literally using pee pads for dogs. The uke, deprived of any meaningful human connection, begins to crave even the seme's abusive touch simply because it's the only form of contact he receives.

He later escapes, only to be gang raped again—this time by people he once considered friends. In a disturbing sequence, the seme recounts the events of their high school history while the uke is being assaulted. To summarize that backstory: the uke and seme attended the same high school, where the uke—along with his friends—raped and humiliated the seme, even distributing videos of the abuse. Eventually, the uke was injured in a fight and lost his memories, which triggered the seme’s elaborate plan for revenge. He intentionally enrolled at the same university to manipulate the uke, despite the latter having no recollection of the past.

After the second assault, the uke is hospitalized with severe injuries, like broken bones, and falls into a coma. During that time, he dreams of their shared past and begins to confront feelings he may have had for the seme—complicated by internalized homophobia. When he wakes up, he panics at the idea of facing further violence and begs the seme to stay with him out of fear. This leads to their continued, toxic entanglement.

The uke begins hallucinating as a result of his trauma and even attempts suicide. The abuse doesn’t end—in fact, the seme resumes degrading him: sending him to school with a vibrator inside him, tying him up in bathroom stalls (mirroring the abuse the seme once suffered), and reasserting control. Eventually, the uke pleads with him not to leave. The story ends with them together, though not in any emotionally healthy or consensual sense of the word.

The novel is undeniably psychological, and how readers interpret it will largely depend on their own values, sensitivities, and understanding of trauma. On one hand, it's true that the uke committed horrific acts as a teenager, and the seme’s desire for revenge is not entirely unfounded. On the other hand, the uke's amnesia removes the possibility of true reckoning, making the seme’s retaliation more like prolonged sadism than actual justice. Even a character within the story tells the seme he’s gone too far.

Both characters are deeply flawed and morally compromised. One could argue that they deserve each other, but that doesn’t erase the sheer discomfort that comes from witnessing the uke's suffering, especially when he becomes a shell of himself, clinging to the very person responsible for breaking him.

As someone who studied both writing and the sociology of rape in college, I find myself grappling with stories like this. It’s disturbing to see a “revenge” arc constructed almost entirely around themes of rape, manipulation, and dehumanization. These are real-life horrors, and while fiction can absolutely explore difficult topics, the way these elements are portrayed matters immensely. This isn’t a romance—it’s the story of a person being methodically dismantled until they believe abuse is love, which is textbook psychological conditioning.

It’s hard not to see stories like this—and others like Sadistic Beauty: BL Story—as glamorizing or fetishizing rape. The storytelling doesn’t challenge the violence; it seems to dwell in it. Of course, many survivors do stay with their abusers, for complicated and tragic reasons. If the author had handled these themes with more nuance or sensitivity, the narrative might’ve stood as a dark but important portrayal of trauma bonding. But instead, the framing often feels like it's catering to a rape fantasy rather than condemning it. That’s what unsettles me the most.

Totally get that—I’m the same way with needing to finish things, but this story just kept crossing the line. I read the novel out of curiosity, and honestly, it only got worse. I agree 100%—the author seriously needs psychological help. There’s a difference between dark storytelling and outright glorifying abuse.

In their defense, Sadistic Beauty is under 'authors other works' when you're looking at the Revenge comic. Not everyone knows of the novel or knows that not all novel writers illustrate their own comic, so it's easy to assume it's the same "author" because it literally says "authors other works." Whether or not it's the same author was not the point for this post lol

Idk why they seemed annoyed by that when it was a fair judgement by you. It literally says "authors other works," so you're valid for assuming it's the same author. It also took me awhile to realize some novel authors don't illustrate their own comics

So valid. I always need something wholesome after reading stories like this. And honestly, I get so tired of the “if you don’t like it, don’t read it” argument. Sure, people can read what they want, but when a story repeatedly glorifies abuse, manipulation, and trauma, it’s not unreasonable to question why some readers enjoy it. It makes me wonder what kind of normalization or fantasies are being catered to, especially when there's no real critique or consequence built into the narrative.

Idk brother it’s very, very easy to see who did what. I understand that mangago has a completely broken author tagging system (it’s an illegal site, so there’s not much to hope for) but I just don’t get why people are STILL correlating the author of Revenge with the author of SB. Whether or not the author was the point of the post is irrelevant when you have people saying “omg I can’t believe they made TWO stories like this there’s something wrong with them” with 100% confidence. That’s fair, but the confusion makes sense. On sites like Mangago, both stories are listed under “author’s other works,” even though they’re written by different people and just share the same artist. It’s not exactly transparent. I don’t think most people are being “proudly wrong”—they’re responding to a trend of stories that rely heavily on graphic abuse without offering any real insight or depth. At some point, it stops feeling like storytelling and starts feeling like exploitation, and I think it’s valid to call that out.

I get where you're coming from, but it feels a bit unfair to assume people “hate to read.” When both stories are listed under the same “author’s other works” tab and share the same artist, it’s easy to see how people might assume they’re by the same writer—especially on a site known for tagging errors. It’s not about refusing to read, it’s about a confusing system that leads to reasonable misunderstandings. And sure, people could look it up to confirm—but expecting every casual reader to cross-reference sources outside the site kind of misses the point. The platform itself is presenting the information in a misleading way, so you can't put all the blame on the person, especially if they, themselves, don't know that the website has credit errors.

Yeah, I do get that. I worded my comment pretty badly, so I'm sorry for that. I appreciate you being civil. I expressed doubt that this other person could read this story, come back repeatedly to "check on it" (their words, not mine), and still not know who the author was. Despite the credit page being on every single chapter. But hey, that's between them and the lord. And the whole "this person wrote something I hate so therefore they are a bad person/mentally ill" mindset is extremely tired to me. People can hate the content all they want but their personal opinions on the story have no bearing over the author as a real person. Thankfully this mindset is starting to slip what with people being galvanized to advocate for nsfw and disturbing fiction ever since those aussie ladies tried to muzzle porn in the US a few days ago. So if anyone gets to win, it will always be the perverts.

I'm really hoping this doesn't end with the MC actually turning into an omega because of the pills the ML has been giving him :/ it'd be nice to have an alpha x beta story once in awhile, especially with how pretty the artsyle is, not to mention it'd make the story even more messed up if he truly does turn into an omega because of the ML manipulating him. But hey, we all know manipulation and red flag tops are normalized in BL, so a girl can only hope for the bare minimum

Angel June 28, 2025 2:02 pm

The part where he shot the old guy but covered the MC's ear cuz the gun was right next to his head was such a cute detail, he made sure to protect him even when spontaneously shooting someone <333

Angel June 25, 2025 1:46 am

From the raws, it looks like there's a certain smell that reminds the ML of something that makes him go into a non-omegaverse rut lmao. In one of the next chapters, who I assume is the MC's brother visits and he brings some type of lotion or perfume that he pours on his hands, and the ML immediately reacts a certain way but slaps himself out of it because they're in public. The MC takes it with them, it almost looked like some type of oil. But the story has been on hiatus for a couple months now, leaving us on a cliffhanger of a sneak peak of them meeting as kids

There's like 2 more chapters after this one, and might I say it's exactly the type of disappointing ending I expected. The side story uke (can't remember his name) doesn't even make him stop despite him literally bleeding. The side story seme basically continues to have sex with him even after the uke has fallen asleep. He continues despite knowing the uke is late for work in the morning. Then it ends with seme giving the uke a bath before work with some shitty statements for an ending.
I already knew this would have a shitty ending because the side story MC would probably end up with the side story ML who's a massive red flag, but the naive part of me was holding onto the hope that the author would finally wake up and realize they're romanticizing domestic violence, but oh well. Not a day goes by where I'm not disappointed with BL stories that have MC's ending up with abusers lmao

    BL Army June 20, 2025 5:18 am

Your last sentence worded it perfectly. It's a shame that toxic relationships and domestic violence are so normalized in BL stories. The ML's never apologize (or at that, give a genuine apology), and this character is a clear example of toxic partners never change their ways. Once an abuser, always an abuser. Like the MC might make some statements that hints he likes the pain or whatever, but at the end of the day, the ML is still abusing him and lowkey manipulating him. It's hard to tell if he even truly loves the MC or if he's just following along because he likes having someone so dependent on him ://

Angel June 12, 2025 3:48 pm

Does anyone have a link to the raws for this?

Angel June 5, 2025 9:09 pm

I'm still not sure if I want to commit to this story. The beginning still urks me how he basically kidnaps him and also rapes him. It makes me feel like it's a bit of Stockholm Syndrome, or like the MC is only with the ML because he has nowhere else to go. Idk, with how popular and famous it is, I feel like I need to read it, but the beginning still gives me uncomfy vibes. Like everyone says the ML is a "green flag" now, but is the rape ever acknowledged? Does he ever acknowledge the fact he sorta manipulated the MC into being forced to rely on him? It just seems like the kind of 'ML rapes and kidnaps the MC but the MC has subtle Stockholm Syndrome and everyone forgets what the ML did in the first place.'
These are just my thoughts, and I'm not looking to argue, but could someone please explain why this story might be worth reading? It truthfully just might not be my cup of tea, but I'm curious to see what people have to say. ♡

    Valgreen June 5, 2025 9:15 pm

Yes he does acknowledge it at some point in the story and does everything to redeem himself (doesn’t excuse it but you get it) and also MC doesn’t fall for ML during the red flag era which is refreshing compared to other bl where the MC is just straight up dumb.
For me personally I especially like the character’s personalities and the way they interact with each other (im talking about all the characters in the story, of course you’ll encounter some uncomfy moments between the two main but like…..you already know it’s gonna be a roller coaster and not a green flag story at first)
But yeah that’s what I like about this story

    ( ・∀・) June 5, 2025 9:33 pm

Beginning of the story was really hard to digest, cuz of the Top’s manipulative nature but he became more aware of his feelings which makes him feel unworthy for the bottom. He acknowledges that he was a shitty ahh person and the bottom would be better without him. Bottom didn’t love the guy who used and manipulated him, he loved the guy who tried to compensate for his mistakes even if it means getting out of their sight, unlike his parents who dumped their problems on him. Top loved him so much that he’s so scared that he’s gonna off himself but still didn’t confine him like those obsessed maniac from other BLs

Thank you for the mature response ^-^ I think I'm definitely just iffy because of the beginning and having a hard time believing someone can change after being a rapist (tho this is probably partially because I took a college course on the sociology of rape lmao). I think I'd have to bite the bullet and at least give it a chance, ya know? Like I started reading it when it literally first came out, but I eventually dropped it because I didn't like how controlling and possessive the ML was (at the beginning where it seems like he treats MC more as an object than someone with feelings). I'll definitely try to give it a chance :))

Thank you for acknowledging that the ML was manipulative at the beginning!! I think the reason I struggled to dive further into this story is because I see a ton of people ignoring/dismissing his actions just because he's "hot." I responded to the previous comment if you'd be more interested in my thoughts, but I honestly think I just need to bite the bullet and give it a chance. Especially because I loved Painter of the Night (another story where the ML abuses the MC at the beginning but changes into a "green" flag at the end), so I'm not sure why I'm so iffy with this story compared to POTN when they're arguably almost similar plots (I think?). WAIT-me suddenly realizing mid response-is this what led to the current pregnancy? Like what the last chapter is dealing with? Oh uh so the car scene got mc pregnant but no one knew. He got kidnapped and in this universe the omega needs his alpha scent to be well and since he was kidnapped he experience pain and well … unfortunately miscarriages. When they found out by going to the hospital the male lead basically left the mc cuz he’s pathetic as fuck (he felt guilty putting mc into constant pain/stress so that’s why he left cuz he thought that was best which really wasn’t cuz the mc was the one who experienced the miscarriage but whatever). He ran away for a month and the mc tricked him into thinking he was drunk so the ml came back and took him home, once they made it home the mc basically drugged the ml into getting into his rut and baby trapped him which is the current pregnancy. Basically these two are not green flags but are uh … yellow flags? Idk I didn’t like how the mc drugged the ml into baby trapping him because … the fuck? But then again Mc only was surrounded by force so of course he thought that shit was normal.

    O. H. Well, that's interesting... My original worry was the ML went into rut and then forced the MC, but... I guess at least the ML didn't force him to get pregnant?... That's still disappointing that the MC forced his rut and literally baby trapped him :/ The last sentence hit hard though, that maybe he thinks the force is normal because of how exposed he was to stuff being forced on him, which doesn't make his actions any better, but it's still kinda sad to think about. Thank you for explaining!! I'll definitely keep this in mind if I do eventually read it...
