lol i bought the raws and shizuma doesn’t cheat or anything you guys are overreacting. it’s not everyday we come across a couple that can work things out fine, the translations here are a bit lacking but the problem with onodera is that they have problems communicating, which is why they can’t even communicate with their co workers. shizuma tries to help them work around it, especially when these two people came in with their pet and refused to have onodera exam them because they’re (onodera) is too rude and rough.
shizuma did stay behind to help onodera with that examination, but at the cost of not showing up to their house touring date. minato wasn’t mad at him, he was more worried and anxious if shizuma got into an accident (he even searched up “recent car accidents” (︶︿︶) )
they talked it out after shizuma was done with his examination (almost hours later, minato was still waiting at their meeting spot). they hugged and went to the bathhouse later, man they even tried to fuck in there but some old dude came out (they thought everyone left already).
what i’m trying to say is, their relationship is fine, shizuma doesn’t like onodera like that, he acknowledged how she has a hard time talking to others and just wants to help her. why would shizuma cheat on minato, he’s been cheated on by ruka, he knows what that feeling’s like. especially when minato is so insecure and had a hard time trusting shizuma because he was scared minato would leave him. shizuma would never put minato through any of that, if there’s a misunderstanding, they’ll clear it up. that’s how their relationship has always been.
though if you guys do want something to cry about volume 2 was left with a cliffhanger of minato’s face because shizuma drove them back to the vet and he got to see onodera’s face

hey guys, obviously there’s been complaints abt this chapter being reuploaded many times. i know the grammar is hard to understand, so i will actually go over what was said in the novel during this event (not the manhwa, sorry!). i will go over ch 35 in the novel too bc it looks like some things don’t line up within the novel and manhwa.
in the novel, tia dreads this event, but she and her dad are complimenting how the other person looks lol (it’s so cute :)) they’re having a family dining session i guess you could say, so the brothers and their wives/ shanannet and her husband.
tia looks at vieze and admits that he’s not that ugly, but she can’t bear to look at him because of his greed in the past life.
i think they’re sitting separately, so adults in one table, children at another. she’s going to sit with twins who promised gallahan they’d look after her (so sweet :)).
they were arguing over who tia sits next to for a while until their dad shows up and starts glaring at them. they go over how vestian actually hates lombardy and it’s a secretly between schultz men only. they admit their father doesn’t like it when they play with tia, and now tia is aware that shanannet doesn’t know at all. she’s starting to grow wary of vestian.
while she’s thinking at her table, bellesac calls out to her with the usual “half blood” remarks. he threw a green grape at tia, and when tia wanted to throw one back, one of the twins ended up doing it for her lol. then the other twin threw somethinf at bellesac. then bellesac starts bragging about how rulac let him go to the imperial palace once a month.
tia wasn’t really surprised because the same thing happened in the previous life. the twins also said they don’t care because the prince was a rude bitch anyways and who would want to play with that thing. tia makes a mental laugh in their head because only lombardy children would treat the first prince with this much disrespect, she can’t imagine other nobles being able to pull it off.
while she was thinking to herself, bellesac calls out to her again (still referring to her as half), and tells her she should be obedient now that he’s the first prince’s companion/friend. tia can’t say it out loud but she could care less because she knows perez will overthrow the first prince anyways. tia throws a buttered bread at bellesac, while he is embarrassed, she continues eating (queen behavior!).
soon rulac walks in, the adults stood up and greeted him, and the banquet/dinner officially starts. tia thinks about how lucky it is the brothers haven’t started directly hurting each other for the next lombardy seat after rulac dies.
it’s soon switched to talking abt the chef, who has so much experience in cooking or whatever. vieze, trying to gain favor with rulac, says he will serve the drinks. in fact, he was just trying to brag about how rulac let bellesac into the palace before he was 11.
seral (vieze’s wife, cousin to the empress iirc, angenas) talks about how bellesac is an exception (she emphasizes exception). shanannet, unable to listen to this woman’s talk, tells her “one can only say it’s an exception” i guess she’s meaning bellesac better not embarrass himself in the palace. nobody in lombardy dares to go against shanannet. nobody. i mean it. seral goes quiet and starts shivering when shanannet spoke up. the author describes in the novel that none of the three siblings dare to go up against shanannet. but compared to how cold she puts up against her brother, she becomes immediately soft when vestian caresses her hand. her mood changes instantly (fuck vestian bruh he led her on so much i hate him)
then, vestian brings up gallahan, and says it must have been a bother to be called out to a banquet when he’s sooo busy. viese laughed hearing about the store, calling it a fail and what does he even think he’s doing atp. he was mocking gallahan but gallahan remained calm and answered firmly, that vieze is right, he is, in fact, trying to open up a store. they question him because he doesn’t plan on using lombardy’s support to help him with his business. seral and vestian start laughing along with laurels (2nd brother iirc), but gallahan rebukes them and says he doesn’t need lombardy’s money to open up a shop.
gallahan was getting tired of this mockery, and he was about to get angry until rulac stepped in and told gallahan he will be watching him. that made vieze so mad because it looked like rulac was looking forward to what gallahan could do (he genuinely was looking forward to it too!). gallahan tells him he will try his best!
i haven’t looked at manhwa ch 36 myself since i can’t stand looking at that sloppy cleaning, so if i missed anything please let me know!
update: i looked at the raws for the manhwa, shanannet reprimands bellesac for embarrassing himself in public, and tells him he lacks teaching. hearing his aunt’s negative regards, he flinches and becomes embarrassed.
whoops forgot another thing sorry i’m updating as i look at the manhwa. the key rulac gives tia is the key to her library that he promised her back when she was asked what she wanted for her 8th birthday. iirc in this scene, tia also says this wasn’t the only thing she asked her grandpa for!
Just to clarify for those that are thinking that these will be the turn of events in the manhwa that it is not. In the novel it was the twins that defended tia and the adults didnt make any snide remarks to her, in the mahwa the adults said rude shit to tia and the one to defend her was actually her aunt shananet. However much appreciated to the commentor for telling us the novel version of what happens cause its also entertaining to read. Knowing vieze suffers is comforting no matter if its novel or manhwa.

background info: when gallahan was announced sick, only closed family and people knew, including doctor omalley (esitra’s greedy teacher/doctor smh). vieze manipulated omalley into revealing gallahan’s disease, which wasn’t announced to the public AT ALL (the public was told he had a sprain leg/leg injury). of course after finding out gallahan was dying of a disease, vieze LAUGHED. he laughed, and he gave all that information about gallahan being sick to the fucking empress. boot licker much? that’s why angenas tried to steal gallahan’s ready to wear business, which also causes rulac to become angry angry angry with angenas.
now for present time info: there is a banquet for tia’s 11th birthday. this birthday is very important to tia because as you all know, lombardy children are allowed to leave the estate when they are 11! during the banquet, gallahan HUMULIATED vieze. he made vieze a laughing stock in front of all the other nobles at the banquet. everybody knows even tho vieze is the eldest son of rulac’s, he lacks authority, even while being married to an angenas. gallahan admits he no longer views vieze as his brother, but as an enemy. one of the first times gallahan has been assertive, he’s taking vieze DOWN. gallahan was described as “a man with no intention of forgiving, no intentions of stepping down”. i’m so glad gallahan is being assertive. vieze blatantly mocked gallahan for spending huge amounts of money on tia’s birthday, gallahan calmly replies with it wasn’t lombardy’s money it was HIS money, his PROFIT from his store that SOMEBODY clearly failed to do like him. when vieze stormed out of the banquet, gallahan didn’t even look back at him.
bonus: everybody’s afraid of perez lol even the twins. they’re all so shy around each other but they all keep clinging to tia including crane (astalliu’s younger bro i believe).

future! sorry i meant background info on why gallahan is treating vieze like this :) the angenas do not get the business because gallahan lived pass his disease that the angenas suspected would kill him. like i said, rulac gets really mad when he finds out angenas was trying to steal gallahan’s business. after gallahan was cured, rulac ends up going back to those noble meetings just to make fun of the current head of angenas.

honestly tia is my favorite fl. coupled with perez they are a crazy power duo. i’m reading the novel right now and i’m super proud of gallahan winning the medal at the banquet. also the way rulac challenged angenas when they tried to steal gallahan’s ready to wear boutique store. reading the way the angenas were shaken up by rulac after gallahan got better was so so fucking cool. man bombarded into the meeting (he was once the chairman of!) and bullied the angenas head that no one in the meeting could side with him. hilarious.
anyways, this timeline is quite different from the previous timeline. i appreciate perez’s involvement in curing gallahan too. turns out rulac is Perez’s supporter and guardian. Perez also gets his own palace because rulac stormed into the emperor’s office after hearing his condition and made a somewhat fool out of the emperor. empress was so mad. the emperor basically ignores his children, but he HATES how the angenas family is growing stronger every day. perez was previously under the empress’s care, but then the emperor gave the authority to rulac. he knows he cannot challenge lombardy even if he is the emperor. i remember in the novel they described rulac as just sitting in the emperor’s office sit waiting for him to come back. that’s the power of lombardy for ya.
when it comes to gallahan’s cure, tia sent a letter to estira, when she heard of gallahan’s condition, she came back of course. she developed a cure but it was only 50% effective. she was missing one ingredient. funny thing is, perez and tia have been sending letters ever since rulac announced to the emperor he wanted to be perez’s guardian. it’s a secret between them :) they were talking about this flower that only grows in the south, and funny thing, it’s the same flower that’s used to cure gallahan. perez knew tia was sad, and while tia was in a bad mood because she was forced to ply with perez while her dad was lying sickly in bed, turns out perez spent time looking for books on gallahan’s disease and picked out all sorts of medicine books for tia. it made tia so happy. when she found out the flower they needed was the flower perez was talking about, perez literally ran away from his palace without any guards or maids just to go give it to tia. he’s so whipped. except rulac made it so clear he didn’t want perez liking his granddaughter (づ￣ ³￣)づ
i’m going to jump a bit to Vestian, shanannet’s husband and the twins father. he’s a total scumbag. cheated on shanannet, never loved her to begin with. he doesn’t deserve her. continuously pestered tia’s paternal grandmother’s sister in law (natalia’s sister, natalia was rulac’s wife, tia’s grandma who is dead) to sell a mine to him. basically embezzled a shit ton of money. i reallt admire shanannet but i feel bad she was totally unaware. fortunately, they divorced, but vestian had the fucking audacity to bring his secret lover (his childhood friend he liked before he was arranged marriage to shanannet) to a banquet, wearing shanannet’s necklace that belonged to her MOTHER. how low can you get? first you cheat and then steal one of the remaining jewelry of your ex dead mother in law? i hate him so much. fortunately tia made a way for the lover to be shown in from of rulac, and he made a whole scene about it, asking her where she got the necklace from. humiliation against a cheating bastard and a women who knew her lover was married is so amusing.
that’s probably all the spoilers i have for the novel. very good book imo, i honestly love their family bonds, but i’m a bit biased towards shanannet. she deserves a better husband （￣へ￣）

ok so...i did end up reading ahead and skipped over 90 useless chapters (or i think so myself haha), spoilers (not really? ch 200+ spoilers)
alright lets get some things said here, yes, the jxx DID sleep with Honglian the prostitute, no I don't know how many times, I believe Shen Yu is no longer mute also! Their relationship does get better when Jun Xuanxiao is on the verge of death though, found that p sad since Shen Yu deserves way better! Like everyone else is saying, Shen yu does become pregnant in the end, the end of the novel, chapter 241 is more Song Qing centric. Seems he ends up with Honglian or this Lian'er, I have not read where this "Lian'er" shows up though so I cannot say if they're the same person or not. The third extra after the novel's final chapter is very cute though, JXX acting like a concern father for their unborn child, still doesn't really make up for his behavior but you get me. I don't know what happens to Dai Rou, but I believe JXX doesn't have a harem anymore and it's just Shen Yu.

Yes Lianer and Honglian are the same person. Lianer was Song Qing's childhood friend but his family was accused of treason but Lianer managed to escape. He got sold and worked in a prostitute house. There is an explanation on why Honglian always wear red, there is a love-hate relationship with that colour.
It was implied that Dai Rou was ahemm gang raped after she tried to get Shen Yu assaulted. Honglian rescued Shen Yu. Dai Rou went mentally insane after that.
Yes, JXX didn't have anyone else after Shen Yu. He temporary 'married' Shen Yu Fu to get Shen Yu's to reaction, but discarded her the next day. I thought the scene where Song Qing asked if they should execute Shen Yu Fu was funny because clearly Shen Yu has the power.
Personally, I think JXX had redeemed himself especially the part when he ran off to be the mute guard. He did want the best for Shen Yu even if it means to give up on him.

No, JXX knew the emperor was also interested in Shen Yu because of the special clan that Shen Yu was from. Both of them noticed Shen Yu's extraordinary long figures. In the comic, there is a small panel when the emperor noticing Shen Yu's fingers when they first meet. Anyways, this clan was supposed to have extra wealth and great knowledge. JXX was thinking by sending Shen Yu to the emperor, he can allow the emperor find the information and scoop in in the end. Shen Yu overhear their conversation and he knew later on - another punch to the face. (JXX regretted doing that and didn't care about the clan's info after after).
You know, two things came to me recently. 1) After a while, when Shen Yu reaccounted the painful memories in his head, it seems that what bother him the most was when JJX said that he liked Shen Yu but not enough to love him. JXX supposedly being with Honglian didn't get replay his memory because Shen Yu knew that JXX had others. It was common at the time and in fact, Shen Yu was an addition to someone else. 2) I don't think JXX realized that he actually loved Shen Yu after Shen Yu left. His comment about liking him but not loving him, I don't think it was a lie. At the time, his ambition was high and he didn't realize Shen Yu held his heart that much. That's just my take.

Okay. I see what you mean and I recalled what Porridge's mentioned. As I mentioned, I read those section only once but I remembered it was said that Zhenbei spent every night with Honglian. I have to admit, when I read that I was convinced that he had physical relationship with him too. The part about Honglian's performance was a bit later and it was a conversation between them that Shen Yu overheard. At that time when I was reading it, I thought they were at it too.
However, when I said it was said in the novel, Zhenbei hasn't been with anyone since Shen Yu, it was during his redemption period, further down in the novel, I think the readers are supposed to think all of those are fake. (or that's that's my take and i think the author back peddle a bit. It's a bit for interpretation). It never explicitly said he was acting with Honglian.
Thought I am not used to reading simplified Chinese, I read the raw version. I not really inclined to read the sections when it was hard for Shen Yu, so you'll noticed that I said that I am going by memory.

As expected, they didn't include any explicit parts, so you might not get your answer. I think this is one of those questions that it will be helpful to ask the author to clarify.
I found that line that I was looking for. It was in chp.127 in case you are wondering. It's the part where JXX was going to marry someone else to get Shen Yu's attention, after JXX defeated the emperor.

The part about 'playing with Honglian' can be open to interruption I guess. After reading that line, I got the impression that JXX and Honglian were faking it.

PORRIDGE says in chapter 74+
"A lot of the servants and eunuchs even song qing knew the king had a new male favorite bec they were doing it every night in the kings chamber." Here shejyu didn't know about honglian...this was a show too?

This is just my opinion as it never really explicitly stated if Shen Yu knew or not. I think Honglian was introduced around chp74, I mentioned that even I took that they were really doing it when I read that part of the story. Lines like even the servants knew gave you that impression. It is possible the Shen Yu knew too, but that he was probably more concern about JXX's feeling for him. After reading later on in the story, that line in chp 127 gave me the feeling that the author wants to do reverse that by saying they were faking it.
He did say that but he knew Shen Yu was outside, so he could have said that to anger SHen Yu.
If the author didn't put lines like in chp127, I probably believed JXX and Honglian did it. Personally, because those lines, it changed my perception of what was real or fake. I probably put more emphasis on that as I do focus more on the later part of the story. It is ambiguous enough that everyone might interrupt it differently (like Porridge and I) and draw their own conclusion.

I supposed if you believe that they could be faking it, they could act once purposely around a servant and allow them to gossip among themselves. They did that when Shen Yu moved out of his mansion. I think it is up to the readers to fill in the blanks based on what they think.

Well, I can understand why you hate JXX, he did pretty awful things in the beginning. To me whether he slept with Honglian isn't worst thing. For me, I don't hate him because he also had to go through a lot in the second half of the story. Both him and Shen Yu had personally growth and at the end of the day, whether there were love rivals or other interfere, they really do love each other. In the story, JXX asked Shen Yu if he hates him, Shen Yu said he does, but it does not 1/1000 of the love he has for him(JXX). So, if Shen Yu forgives him, I do too.
But shenyu for me is a Stockholm syndrome...he feel affection for his cruel guy who captivates him.
And if king slept with honglian, for me is worst cause king himself beat and punished shenyu for cheating (where in fact shenyu was innocent and had nothing to do with emperor) if king dislikes cheating so much why he himself commit it...he's a hypocrite who doesn't view shenyu as an equal .

But going to back what I said that JXX felt that it's normal to be more superior, later on in the story, he threw away his emperor status (temporarily) to chase after Shen Yu and prepare to be a guard for him. He protected and acted like a servant for Shen Yu. For the emperor of a kingdom to do that, it showed how he valued Shen Yu later on.

I actually read part of the novel, up to around 120 chapters. I know a lot of you guys like Jun Xuanxiao now because he protects Shen Yu, but he does a lot of things I wouldn’t really admire about him. A lot of spoilers down below. JXX = Jun Xuanxiao, SY = Shen Yu, XXY = Xiao Xiye (Emperor), DR = Dai Rou (Princess Consort)
First of all, Jun Xuanxiao is nothing but a man filled with vinegar. He found out Shen Yu lied about Xiao Xiye(Emperor) visiting the pavilion. He already knew XXY visited SY, but he wanted to test SY to see if he would tell the truth. After that day he ignored SY I believe. Then came the hunting day, XXY, JXX, and DR were out on the grounds but JXX made SY stay inside the carriage with Song Qing guarding him. Shen Yu wanted to join JXX so he asked Song Qing to teach him, when SQ was trying to help SY get on the horse, JXX came back and saw SQ holding his thigh and he became angry. A bunch of Huns came later, XXY and JXX sent DR back to SY when Song Qing was taking SY away from the Huns. DR asked SY to let her in the carriage, he agreed and she pushed him off the carriage, he fell down the cliff. JXX and XXY went to go find him, and at the end of that chapter, JXX says the one thing he regrets most is not being the one who found SY that night. XXY was the one who found him, and they stayed in a cave to keep warm. In the morning JXX found them and he saw SY had XXY’s cape over him, he got mad and then left. I won’t say a lot about that scene but later XXY took back JXX’s army. He got mad and XXY called what he did rebellion so he locked up JXX (escaped later thanks to Shen Yu). Also Shen Yu’s origins (Yunmeng) plays a very important part to this story but I won’t say much on it. The one thing that ticks me though is that JXX does bring back another person to his palace (works under Dai Rou), Shen Yu overheard JXX say to that person that Shen Yu was just a sex slave for him. When SY asked JXX if he had ever loved him, JXX responds with “Never.”

remember because of censorship the manhua does not draw explicit scenes, the novel is way more explicit. their relationship is only deemed official (to me at least) when jun xuanxiao gets over his petty self. jun xuanxiao was the one who told shen yu he never loved him, you can’t say their relationship is official by then. xiao xiye threw jun xuanxiao in jail and shen yu was the one who freed him, before he was thrown in jail the person jun xuanxiao brought back who i assume is the owner of the slave trade family (as it sounds like) has done some things with him and has also gotten shen yu into a lot of misunderstandings with jxx. however that person did help shen yu once, and it doesn’t really sound like they consider themselves a subordinate of dai rou’s/princess consort. the novel is about 200 chapters and since i’m only in the 100s i can’t say much about when their relationship truly becomes official. i’ll come back and update when i finish
