idk what y’all are on about calling ryo a slut, they’re ALL sluts. that’s the whole premise of the story. people yap too much about poly/open relationships or fwb relationships, like your puritan mindset is none of anyone else’s business. the more concerning part of the story was the minor x adult parts, ryo was taken advantage of by an adult as a middle schooler ffs, but somehow the same people who gripe about ryo being a fuckboy never care to mention that? the irony is LOST on y’all
Idk what y’all are on about bc the story and the ending are FINE. the story is so obviously meant to be toxic, angsty, and bittersweet, and it’ even pretty well-written for 7 chapters. if you don’t like twisted love stories then that’s on you, both the characters aren’t toxic and it’s not like this story even romanticizes it tbh so i don’t see the problem.

i’m so confused about the takeo hate? it’s obvious that he has a low emotional threshold and has a hard time understanding emotions, but his intentions are always good and he never means harm. what’s wrong with wanting to try out a relationship to see if you have feelings? and isn’t it obvious that he’s in love? he’s said it so many times and it’s clear that he has a deep affection for wako that’s more than just a ‘crush’ feeling, he genuinely cares about every part of wako deeply. and isn’t it valid of him to be hurt that wako kept on denying his feelings?
I understand what you mean, i think, although maybe in wrong, that i can explain why i think people are annoyed with takeo-- I don't think its takeo or his character or even any of his actions, i think its the authors framing. We know takeo cares deeply for the uke- actually its never a question of their deep emotional connection and i think that he is considerate of the uke. But he never breaks out into passion, i think if he clearly became more sexually interested (he was but we as the reader don't see it, he can get hard but we don't see him really become hot and bothered ). I think if the author had made the sex scene longer and more passionate, especially on takeos side, if he was clearly flushed or if he didn't stop to say somethin emotional at the end-- again this just feels like reassurance because he doesn't have the sexual interest to back it up, it feels more like consideration when theyre in the middle of an act of desire. Or if we as the audiences saw takeo become aroused while jerking off wako and even see him or imply that he took care of it himself. That would indicate that he really is interested in wako but as readers we don't get that so it feels like the desire really is mostly on wakos part.
thank you sm!! i get what you’re saying that people think takeo could look more interested in wako but then i feel like that ruins the point of his character—i feel like the subtly of how he’s dense but slowly and naturally gravitating towards wako is what makes the story heartwarming and realistic. if it were too obvious that takeo was in love then it’d make less sense, bc how is takeo, who was previously straight, all of the sudden head over heels for his best friend? and i feel like for the ending, rather than them having a passionate happily ever after, it was more of a feeling that they have a long and steady future together, which i thought was really heartwarming. but anyways ty for explaining!
the hate has something to do also with takeo not confessing he did like another man to wako. i'm pretty annoyed at that part. sure it was not shingo lol but it was shingo's bf, ao, that he did like. i was frustrated at the denial of that
Not only that, but in the other manga, Takeo definitely seemed to convey more suggestive emotions toward another character. That's the part that makes this Takeo seem kinda...bland. If he were the same in both mangas I wouldn't mind his character. I do love a man that isn't as emtionally expressive but still shows they care through actions rather than words. Him being kind is undeniable, but the way he was in the other manga made it look as if Takeo was more interested in Ao (the guy in the manga) compared to his interest in Wako. In this manga it almost looks like he doesn't want to lose Wako, but in the other manga it looked like he actually wanted to be with Ao, he even said "why can't it be me" or something along those lines. That was more of a confession than anything he said in this manga. I like Takeo but I don't like how the author made him appear less interested. I was excited to read this manga knowing that Takeo is gonna end up with someone, since I read the other one first, only to be kind of underwhelmed.
