Leaving aside how much they love each other and how much Akane was suffering without him, having a child grow up in a single parent household would be really bad for it. Takuya's already experienced that, and even if Akane would still love the baby herself I think she would be happier having him in her life. They both rely on each other too much for me to think otherwise. But I still think the author should have made Takuya go through hell for what he did. He was let off way too easily. At least make it so Akane ignores him for a couple months.

So true. That's again the asian beauty standards that plays here. But hey at least one of the main character has dark skin, and she's the girl (wich is really rare as a girl has to have pure white skin) . Because it's not always the case, in a lot of webtoon, manga, manwua, anime or whatever, the setting of the story is in a country where they are people of color, but the main character is magically the only one that is white. Just because being white = beauty in asian culture.
People can have their own beauty and cultural standards, but they have to at least respect the reality and not whitewash characters.
As a middle eastern myself this thing here upsets me when they don't want to represent someone that is supposed to be tan as tan.
