Its cute that everyone is defending Hooni, but you guys need to remember that Hooni doesnt exist and the author himself has sexualized and keeps sexualizing Hooni, which is totally fine since it's his character lmaooooo
Yeah but seeing a character that's suicidal, a minor and struggling with so much shit not be taken in full seriousness and is rather being sexualized is hard to digest and is quite disturbing man...
Ofc its the author's character they can do whatever they want but it's morally questionable, especially since now it just feels like his character just being used as a " cute depressed af pitiful broke boy" for secualizing him rather than taking these problems seriously.
I do not know how to express what I'm thinking properly in words, but I hope you got the gist of what I'm trying to say.
.... you do understand that fiction DOES affect reality tho..... u can preach as much as u want that it doesn't but if u see no issue in what the author is doing good ur just as bad. here's an example of fiction affecting reality or just u as a reader,, if u read a chapter from this and felt happy bc hooni was happy that's fiction affecting you..... hooni may be a drawing but ur emotions u get from reading abt him r very real..... now if u put this in context of the sexualisation of hooni and u were in anyways ok w it or even worse u liked it that's fiction affecting u once again and normalising the sexualisation of literal children.... do u see the issue here or do I need to be more blunt to get it through ur thick skull that it's wrong to sexualise minors both real or fake.
Its supposed to be comedy and You dont need to take this story too serious. In Japan the whole depressed anime boy/girl can be used as a turn on thing too haha. Dont bully me nagatoro could be a great example, the show is not trying to say that bullying is okay, is only to appeal the bullying fantasy/kink. You shouldn't be shaming people for wanting to see hooni being degraded shdjdh I'm pretty sure no one would want a real person being treated that way, at least not me. But if it's a fictional character that does not represent anyone in real life? Yes, I have no problem with that
In a lot of countries(america included) they understand that fictional minor characters are NOT real and lolishota is LEGAL because no children is being sexually exploited. If fiction can affect reality then why no one prohibits games that have violence and murders??? I dont see people robbing banks because GTA affected them lmfao
but it's still wrong and loads of people actively avoid it because it's wrong- the only people who participate in lolicon/ shotacon and such r people who r into it both in reality and fiction. and also people go out of their way and act those actions out like murder and bank robbery,, it's possible to mentally sexualise a child or for someone to draw a child they know irl in a sexual position, sure it's a drawing but now it's a real child being put at harm. How do u still not understand that it's wrong??
The whole depressed anime boy/ girl being a turn on is exactly the problem I'm referring to but ig I can't kink shame, make hentai of whatever the fuck you want, but season 1 of this wasn't a hentai and it was genuinely quite realistic and it was inspiring to see hooni who was so depressed slowly get better. It gave the vibes of a slice of life, coming of age manga dealing depression. However, the second season being very lacklustre and diving more and more into sexualizing him is very off putting. There's nothing wrong with you still liking this or having no problems with this, I'm just stating why some of us feel its problematic. If hooni was degraded or whatever in a hentai, nobody will and should complain since it was just purely porn, but this,, this is a story about a boy who is slowly coming out of depression man, making depression a kink isn't a good look in here of all places...
Oh you're kinda right. The first part was kinda serious buuuut... remember how it started? With Hooni going on "dates" with ugly bastards? And the suggestive covers? Hooni was always being sexualized
I guess the author tried to make a serious story at first but his horny side won haha he always was a nsfw from the start
apparently when park gee draws nsfw of hooni, he states that he is of age in the drawings (even tho he still looks kinda the same) so I see your point that at the end of the day it’s just drawings.
However if ppl still find it uncomfortable we shouldn’t force them to change their thinking (but instead of complaining just don’t read it.)
I completely agree with you. It feels like people are only objectifying and putting sexualized content under their lens. This is fiction, period. There is no way to ever fairly judge fictional scenarios with reality because again, it is fiction. It's also park gee's character, therefore he is free do do whatever he would like with hooni. Within the same argument, If you're gonna put suicide boy on the radar why not My Hero Academia or Naruto, which endorses children as soldiers and includes child endangerment. Naruto literally sponsors children to battle and kill enemies, yet I've never seen anyone ever complain about it. This is because naruto is fiction and therefore has no place to be compared to reality, similarly to suicide boy.
Okay,so I just read y'all's conversation, if you have such a huge Problem then don't read the comic, it's simple, it is fake and the fact your first thought is that they could be Sexualized says something, for all we know this artist could be touching on real life subjects of how teens and such feel obligated to do something for money and People to see and make them feel special, stop being so quick to judge and if you don't like it then just don't read it, no one's getting harmed so there's not big deal, your just creating a big deal, unlike you think many people do know the difference between a comic and life and what is and isn't right to do, since you wanna be so stuck up about a comic take that energy into the streets and help REAL life people who are struggling with this, like the character otherwise you shouldn't really be speaking, not should I. But here we are yet another person confusing fake comics with life, do I need to repeat the fake? Understand??? ((And I'm trying to be as nice as possible, sorry if I come off as rude or worse))

I thought this was getting an official eng translation?
I thought I heard that somewhere too, I couldn’t seem to find it anywhere though
It's already out on L**hin. It's at chapter 7 and one of those series that gets one chapter unlocked for free every week.
Then why are poeple still translating this?... if people want to read they will have to wait just a couple of months
It will be years! Not a couple of months
That's why the original translation group stopped translating it. I also don't understand why so many people complain about it not being translated anymore. Sure it'll take about 1.5 years for the official release to catch up but if I start reading a fantranslation of an unfinished webtoon then that's just something I have to expect. Especially the non BL/smut stories will sometimes official translations years after they launched in Korea.
Ok you have a point... but why are the official translators so slow?! They actually get paid for it! And they picked this up so late! Idk I just wanna complain about it. I'm gonna learn korean at some point. ╥﹏╥
You feel that was but but everyone does. And it's depressing to have to wait for something you enjoy even though the material is there already. Just because you have patience doesn't mean everyone does.
I they could translate more than one chapter per week. They have done that with some series when the site was still rather new. But I guess people just don't want to pay for two chapters per week (at least I'm not aware of any series on L**hin that still gets two updates per week).
It's not so much about having patience and more about being aware that this is something that can easily happen.
It's not unusual for English publishers to release a series like this long after its launch in Korea, especially L**hin tends to do that. Once the official release is up, most serious translation groups won't touch it anymore (too risky). Sometimes people who work alone and can do proper translations will the pick it up but more often than not you either end up with horrible translations or just no updates at all.
That's just how it is and it's something people should be aware of if they start reading a series like this before it's finished.
