I need spoilers!

I personally think that at first Seungho was only attracted to the paintings, but later found himself indulging in the thoughts of Nakyum looking at him and only him, with pure intentions of only painting. And I think he didn’t ever receive that from people, like as if no one ever had pure intentions or affections towards him. Since all the people he had sex with only sought him for pleasure and because he’s a noble. But Nakyum is so pure and all about the teacher that maybe Seungho wanted that for himself. And I don’t know if it’s just me but whenever they have sex, Nakyum looks at him and makes eye contact, whereas the other people have their eyes close??? Idk maybe I’m reading too much into it, but that’s how I see it.

prob bcuz seungho sees nak as a pretty little play thing that he can bully and always get rilled up. up until now (that we readers know of), seungho has had plenty of uppity/ rich hoes throwing themselves at him and ig he got bored of it. so now he comes across this docile, pretty, lowborn that cries and resists him & with a lowkey sexy side and boom,, he’s a simp

Nakyum did put up a fight though at first. I wouldn’t call him docile. Why else would Seungho chase after him with a sword? Super cute though, that’s true.

I do remember when Seungho said he used to punish servants by painting over them. Wonder if he used to paint too? Nah, I’m probably overreaching...

I hope the mangaka addresses this big question though...

Hmmm... seems like Seungho has always been the center of the orgy party though. And Nakyum’s “pure eyes” were reserved to the learned B... idk... I hope the mangaka gives more hints as to what pulls Seungho to Nakyum

I think it's because he noticed Namkyun's selfless love towards his teacher and it impressed him. He never had such a selfless affection directed towards him, so he wanted this for himself.

i think seungho is attracted to nakyum because he unconsciously feels jealous of learned scum? like seungho wants nakyum's 'pure' love and affection but the only way he knows how to get it is through forcefully make nakyum surrender. you can see how seungho was 'intrigued' when drunk nakyum confessed and gave his body so willingly to who he thought was the learned scum, seungho wants someone to pine for him, i think.

Hmmmmm... that does indeed seem more plausible. Also doomed for failure. People are speculating about what sort of ending these two will have and I cycle back to that Q&A: someone asked if they can be happy, and the Mangaka replied “in their own way.” I wonder of the only possible “happy-ish” ending for the two is not with each other...? Well, I’ll keep reading to find out!

Hmmm... that does seem plausible, but then why not go for the pretty noble (sorry, I forgot the name)? That guy is crazy about Seungho and genuinely does understand him better than the rest of his playmates. He was the first and only one to recognize Nakyum as a real threat.

but he doesn't understand Seungho. Seungho's former sex partner(s) only cared about Seungho, because he is noble and rich, meanwhile Seungho hates this whole hierarchy thing. It's what ruined his family and life. All he has left is servants and fake people, who are only impressed by his status. Thank you for sharing that link and your thorough explanation! It gave me a lot of food for thought. While you certainly make a good argument, there are some assumptions (as all of us must make) that I don’t 100% see. The number one assumption being Seungho is somehow a catch for the other nobles/ that they are into him for his status. From the way he is described by others, he seems to be the fallen / exiled noble... borderline disowned by his father. If the other nobles give him the time of day, it’s just for debauchery. I don’t think he can further their social standing at all. While criminally petty and entitled, I do think that Prettty Boy noble cares about Seungho... certainly more so than Nakyum cares for Seungho.

As for Nakyum, I now think his feelings for the Learned Sir (LS) are superficial. It was probably puppy love compounded with need since Nakyum was “given away” to the learned sir. When Seungho asked Nakyum outright why he likes LS so much, Nakyum couldn’t reply.

Idk, I am reading this less and less as a love story tbh... but I haven’t zeroed in on what drives Seungho yet. Maybe when we get his backstory, we’ll conclusively understand his “connection” with Nakyum.

I am also confused about how much influence Seungho actually has in the community, but it seems like he is still above other nobles, as nobody dares go against him. Like he mentioned earlier, if he kills someone, nobody dares suspect him as the murderer. If anybody gets in Seungho's way, nobody can or will save them from Seungho's revenge..

He is disowned by his father, but his father retired and left the town, so now - I think - Seungho has taken over his family's role in the town (not his father's job, but the social role that his family had in the local community)..

I don't think the boys are interested in Seungho, because they want to use him to become more powerful. I think they still admire him, as they all grew up together in the same town, and Seungho's family was probably the most powerful in the community. The admiration they had for his family probably still lingers inside them.. Also let's face it, he is the most handsome one among them
Also it seems like he is the only ''pure'' top among his sex friends? (⌒▽⌒) The others either only bottoms or switch, so this may make him more attractive??

Oh and regarding Nakyum I agree with you. The blog that I linked to also explains in a post that the teacher was the only man that Nakyum actually could and was allowed to admire from a social perspective. We know that he cares a lot about what others think about him, so it wouldn't be socially accepted, if he had feelings of admiration for someone of his own social rank, but it was okay to look up to the teacher.. so he probably think that he loves the teacher, as he is aware that he is attracted to men, but has yet to discover what true love is..

Furthermore it seems he was surrounded by a lot of women (his noonas), so he may not have many men to choose from.. if you get what I mean? ╮(￣▽￣)╭

I still think it is Nakyum's alleged love for the teacher that sparked Seungho interest in Nakyum, but yeah we do need his background story to understand why exactly that was a trigger and reach a better understanding of Seungho's feelings :)
