like the ratio to BLs with the trashy asshole male lead whose a jerk to the uke and its eventual dubcon chapter to the not satisfying chasing arc feels like 1000:1, and don’t get me started on the influx of BLs just being dark asf for the sake of crazy ass smut like I can’t… i just hope this will make healthier stories begin to trend more bc the industry v obviously follows trends and rn they’re pretty shit imo

i think you would absolutely love the novel, because the pacing is done so well, and honestly seeing some of the details and stuff left out in the manhwa or changed made me kinda upset. like i know this probably doesn’t seem like a big deal, but the intimacy and trust we see between renato and khalid is just so so deliciously wonderful. it’s not just pure smut, but you literally watch them fall in love with each other little by little, and you also see renato gain trust in someone who truly cares about him. kinda hate that they jumped to them having sex in chapter 39, when in the novel it took ways for them to get there, but i know that not everything will be novel paced accurate. the buildup and development is worth the wait, and i feel you truly see renato’s intelligence shine through, even with khalid’s and his family’s issues.
the anime instantly hooked me and i have now binged all 144 chapters in a single day. very worth it and ily amo, you can do no wrong
