I'm sometimes confused if the MC has traveled back in time or transmigrated because she seems to refer to Cayena's past as her own. Seems like her memories combined with the OG Princess' and her personality is mishmash of her OG personality and the OG princess. Interesting.
According to the novel readers, she lived THREE lifes. The first one is as Cayena where she was married off. The second one is the modern world where she read the book about her past life but she had no memories of it. The third one is the current life she have. So, she basically went back in time. That's why she said that she went in the novel she read but after regaining her memories, she realized she's the real Cayena. She sometimes refers to Cayena as a separate person because she lived a different life once in the modern life. She kinda had the same experience in the modern world.
I hope that helps.
I like the premise of this one. Not having a heroine is a very unique twist, plus I'm glad to see a ML of a lower status than the MC finally appear. So long as he's not some secret Prince of a conquered kingdom sent to infiltrate the MC's house, or the Head of the Mages or something or the other, it'll be nice to see an interclass romance properly play out.
Yeah, I'm waiting for when they're older so I keep reading it.
I have other suggestions, yeah. Again, maybe you already know them:
Colette Wa Shinu Koto Ni Shita (one of my favourites!)
I will change the genre
Milady just wants to relax
I gave birth to the tyrant's child (I kinda dropped this one, tho)
Queen Cecia's shorts (or smth like this)
The lady I served became a young master
The crown Princess audition (she's of lower nobility who are basically commoners with a title)
A hunter's courtship method
Matchmaking baby princess
I'm the ex-girlfriend of a soldier
The Villain discovered my identity
Please throw me away
The lady's butler (The ML is her butler but he's a powerful figure so I don't know if this one counts)
The fake princess' OP bunny
The princess imprints the traitor
I choose the emperor ending
Like wind on a dry branch
I Want to Be a Receptionist of The Magic World
Saving the Villain Who was Abandoned by the Female Lead
Please don't eat me (fallen noble who is basically a commoner with a title, again I don't really know if we can consider it for this list)
Irregular empress
Éminence Grise Female Lead Is Trying to Make Me Her Stepmom
That's it. I don't remember more haha
Ugh, how I like you. He's just too good of a boy, and while I'm definitely glad he's *SPOILERS* not the real ML *SPOILERS END*, I'm not happy reading the spoilers about how he ends up. It's really unfair and it hurts. He's definitely not mentally stable, but he's also someone who was captured as a slave from a fallen country, treated as one, and now is working under a woman who if she chose to (and she wouldn't, but he doesn't know that) could send him back to the slave traders, or the auction house. Add to that the power imbalance and Penelope's ring and definitely a healthy relationship wouldn't form. That being said, if they could become, if not friends, then very close as a Lady and her Escort, and remain such, deviating from the plot of the novel, I'd be much happier. Please don't give my boi Eclise a bad ending. Σ(っ°Д °;)っ ┗( T﹏T )┛

I might be reading too into this, since I doubt this webtoon is trying to be anything more than surface level deep in terms of its theme, or commentary, but does anyone feel a bit icky that the only ML who isn't nobility or belonging to a rich social class, apparently turns obsessive and evil, basically reaching a bad end? I'm just saying this because other manga with this kind of plot almost never have the MC romance a commoner or someone lower in status, so it just feels odd that the 'slave' ML reaches a bad end. Mind, even my recollection of the spoilers is shaky at best, but I feel that doing something so terrible for the character arc of a slave character just feels uncomfortably classist, albeit unintentionally. That being said, I also don't think it's fair to label the manga as classist just because a significant character who's a slave turns out to be twisted, same way you wouldn't call a movie homophobic because the villain happened to also be gay. Please keep in mind that these were just my feelings regarding Eclise whenever he was mentioned onscreen, and not some type of analysis of the webtoon. If someone who's read the novel would like to fill me in, please don't hesitate to do so. Same if someone would just like to add their 2 cents. I'm open to discussion especially regarding a webtoon I'm really enjoying.
