It’s never gonna happen. Philomel never saw her as a mother, actually I think your wish of wanting that to happen is lowk nonsensical? She doesn’t really need a mother’s love? Years of knowing she’s not wanted, only being noticed after putting effort in specifically for her survival all because her own mother decided to put her in that situation out of jealousy. Her mother never loved her, never cared, she only felt guilt when she is forced to confront her mistake. It would be ridiculous for Philomel to want a relationship with her knowing full well her love is towards a child she didn’t even give birth to. Look back at the chapters, Philomel clearly states that her mother never once thought of her, so why would you want them to have a good relationship with her? A bond that would never had happen to begin with because she’s an experiment child that’s supposed to be sent to the tower. She’s only feeling those emotions because of envy, not because she wants her mother’s love. The mother also feels just guilt, not the desire for her child’s love. Now she has people who actually want a relationship with her, people who would’ve been her family from the beginning had her mother followed the contract. It only makes sense for the rest of the chapters to be her relationship with her father and three brothers:
