I actually find it nice that the MC is rude. Not only is it doing wonders to the plot (bfr we wouldn't have THIS much progress with the plot if MC was kind. He'd be far too busy helping others' out.) but he's also a bit "unique."
There's been one too many morally upright and "good" MC's so having one that's overconfident but has the abilities to back it up is a breath of fresh air. Plus, If yall find the MC irksome, then just dont read this..? Its as simple as that.
Thank you. I've seen others commenting about MC's personality and actions in a not so good light especially reasoning it with "jealousy" or "being annoying" that makes the story not enjoyable. MC's personality and actions fits the theme of the plot as the pacing becomes straightforward without any "side quests" that deviates the main storyline. His character is also very refreshing to me as I too read a lot of manhwas that have "good" and "morally upright" MC's that makes their plotline seem stretched for the attention span. I would've agreed to the negative comments IF the MC's reasoning and thinking didn't go as planned, basically if he kept fking things up (multiple times in a row) without any back up plan while still being overconfident but he's not like that. He's overconfident because he knows he has the abilities to be able to execute whatever plans he has in mind.
I'm with you that if people find MC irksome then why stay and read? If it's not your cup of tea then just leave.
At first, I was annoyed that Ruzee couldn’t stay a knight—like, she did so much as Rufus, and they repay her by stripping her of her knighthood? THATS INSANE! But maybe she needed this break because it gave her the freedom to explore and reflect. Plus, if she had revealed her true identity and kept being a knight, she would’ve messed up the OG Rufus' and his family's future! Considering how our MC, she definitely wouldn't want that.
Also, its nice that the slice of lifey period wasn’t dragged out. I LOVE that she made up her mind on things and yet still willingly chose to return as a knight—this time as herself! Now she just has to rack up some achievements and reveal that the “Fake Knight” and “Demon Puppeteer” were her all along!
