ive never been one to look for realism in a bl, i mean with how much sex assault and rape ive read i like to think the genre is not originally supposed to portray realistic relationships.
but this one? this one fucks me up. jin is as frightening as he is pitiful, and that's the saddest thing ever - i almost feel sympathy for him, he's completely deranged and lost in his own little world
his brother, on the other end, just makes me want to cry. he's this poor adopted boy who had to see his parents achieve their dream, having a kid, when he was just a placebo. he's had to live with the self-inflicted guilt of not being worthy of this family even as they showered him with affection unaware of his turmoil. worst of all, he had to suffer jin's twisted kind of love, to the point where he thought this mad love was sweet, and he convinced himself he felt it too. how fucked up do you have to be to blush when your abuser tells you he loves you?
what bugs me the most is that it could be a powerful message about abuse and the consequences of it, yet im not really sure if that's the point of the author. i want to give them the benefit of the doubt because, in this case, it would be a masterpiece.
anyway, im tired of all this rapey shit, i want sweet goofy romance that doesn't involve some type of stockholm syndrome

Up until the end of the book at the very least I hoped the brother would change how he treated him, since I knew they still end up together. BUT NOOO, the adopted brother had to convince himself that he liked the form of love his brother gave him
. Honestly they both irritated me. One just wouldn’t stop and look at how his actions affect his brother whether or not he loved him. And the other should have straight told the other one to stop, because he’s a weak willed person he allowed the other brother to continue doing those things.
ok but am i the only one thinking haruki looks a lot like lio from promare???
