But what if, perchance, I’m simply obliged to reading this spinoff after being a committed reader of Pearl Boy. A rite of passage if you will. He just was just tormented by seeing his most important person be snatched away from him and now this. Is it wrong to want to catch a breath?

OMG you can’t say anything on here without being taken completely literally. OF COURSE I am capable and have proven (with once being committed pearl boy reader) to be able to read and enjoy a story that is toxic/has toxic arcs. That doesn’t mean that I seek out stories for enjoyment based off of said toxicity levels. So YES, I can still read a story not feigning for toxic shit but also continue to read it…and after finishing the fucking coaster ride of a story like pearl boy you’d want something a bit more fluffy anyways. I wasn’t NOT expecting but expressed how quickly the story has revealed its toxic nature. Thank you.

Ahh it’s because of your tone. If you’d tone it down, less people would misinterpret.
I think the kid is a zombie, or dead, and that woman in the storage room, what was she doing there? I think somehow what she was doing, got the kid, and now it's all happening behind the shadows, and once there's an odd moment between these two, boom, town on fire.
