Well the author did say that from the beginning Taegu would be a love interest. Is it still shocking? Yes. I’m just trying to feel better knowing Youngwoon is an adult with adult responsibilities, body, face, voice. And the age difference is only 9 years. Taegu looks like an ahjussi so I can’t help freaking out. Plus he knew him as a kid. But like I said, Youngwoon is an adult…

It’s no misinformation.
I have two points to make.
Firstly, that was mean and uncalled for. Dyslexia is a real condition that affects reading processing and throwing it out as an insult trivializes what people with it experience. It’s also irrelevant here-disagreeing with someone’s interpretation of a manhwa doesn’t require attacking their neurological health. You can make your point without going for personal jabs.
Secondly, lemme clarify things for you.
In the English version of the Q&A, the question was: “Is Taegu Seo-in’s rival?”
The author answered: “He is, and he plays quite an important role in the overall storyline”
Sure, rival here could be interpreted in several ways, but in romance manhwa, especially one that uses romantic undertones, “rival” almost always implies: “romantic rival” unless context clearly says otherwise. English translators don’t need to write “romantic rival” every time because that’s generally understood by everyone in this genre.
In the Korean version, the Q&A is even more direct: “Q: 태구 씨는 서브 공이 맞나요?”
This literally asks if Taegu is the sub gong- the second top in BL. The author answers:
“Yes, he is the sub gong and…”
서브-showing he’s secondary to the main lead
공-top/seme/attack
Even in the Korean question the questions ending was: “right?-as in she knew the answer but needed confirmation. The Q&A didn’t reveal anything surprising- it confirmed something the author had been setting up for a while. The author drew panels that held subtle tension between Taegu and Youngwoon. These drawn-out pauses are the kind of visual cues used in romance manhwa to set up a potential love interest. Recognizing those signs is part of basic media literacy: noticing context clues like tone, word choice and framing; spotting foreshadowing; and understanding when something is implied rather than stated outright. If you didn’t spot this tension between the two, the author’s Q and A removes any doubt about it.
Anyhow, you really should phrase things differently-you could really hurt someone. I couldn’t imagine having that condition and other people just using it as a way to slight others.

You told me in one of these chapters you never said anything about some korean q&a and also youre so fucking weird "he's an adult" like okay? He literally groomed him stop justifying pedophilia theres no excuse we're all grossed out about it and its clear Youngwoon doesnt want him and only sees him as a father or brother so im sorry that some of us were in denial while youre out here trying to justify that old gross pedophile liking the mc

Ok clearly you can’t read or refuse to because it tires you out quickly. Hopefully you can read all of this. Ch 21.5 HAS the Q&A. I gave you both translations of the question asking if Taegu is the ML.
I can’t reason with people who can’t string two logical thoughts together. But pedophilia is something very serious so try I must.
(Also I don’t ship them and again you failed to have any reading comprehension-google what that is). He is not a father figure. He’s a gangster with morally grey tendencies and morals. He did not do enough to deserve being called a father figure. He ignored the abuse and only helped him enough so that Youngwoon had the tools to survive with no parental support.
Look, I get that the age gap and backstory make things uncomfortable- that’s understandable. But calling Taegu a “pedo” is just wrong and shows a lack of understanding of what that word actually means.
A pedophile is an adult attracted to prepubescent kids. Taegu knew Youngwoon when he was a kid and the story never shows any romantic or sexual feelings at that time. Where does it imply this? Nowhere. This one sided attraction only starts when Youngwoon is an adult.
Also please read up on what grooming is. You’re using this terms but you clearly don’t know what they mean.
If you’re just using “pedo” as a catch-all insult for anyone with a big age difference, fine- but don’t act like you’re making some serious, informed accusation. It just makes you look uninformed and, honestly, kind of reckless with important terms.
Don’t fuck around with the topic of pedophilia kid. I don’t care if you’re just being emotional. Don’t. It’s a very serious and painful subject.
If you want to have a real discussion, maybe try understanding the actual definitions before throwing around loaded words.

Errrr ok? Congratulations I guess? I didn’t expect you to resort to throwing a tantrum and name calling. I guess this is where I say that you are right-I don’t want to hurt your feelings any longer. I didn’t know that my opinion would make you cry.
I’m going to disengage now since I think you’re just looking for a fight or to hurt someone’s feelings? I dunno I’ve never come across someone like you thank god. I’ll let you have the last word since you want it so bad but I’m not reading it.

Talking and caring for a kid doesn’t make you a pedophile…stop sexualizing and making everything weird. Taegu becomes a love interest when he is 36 years old and when Yeongwoon is 27 years old, he wasn’t waiting for him to grow up to date him nor he was attracted to him when he was a minor, don’t misunderstand.

bro im afraid this webtoon is too complicated and mature for you if you think this. ur just like the others complaining abt how dragging taegu's backstory is when you didnt even pick up anything from it. i dont like taegu as a love interest for yw like the rest (too bad bc the author DOES confirm this) but calling him a pedo is just wrong. taegu isn't a pedo bc he didnt have sexual or romantic feelings for yw when he was a KID. he only started having those for him when yw was already an adult. what he felt for yw when he was a kid was sympathy (ironically, (im case you don't know why that is: it's ironic bc he's feeling bad for the kid of the man he keeps beating up for money)). an adult having a relationship with a kid isn't weird or creepy. it only crosses the line when the adult has ulterioir, sexual/romantic feelings/motives. you may be an adult but you're fucken immature (and maybe perverted) to think that every non-parent adult-kid relationship is weird. bYE!

To anyone who thinks Sunwoo is dumb no he’s not. TT. He’s just normal. He was super wary and had his guard up until Sion smiled at him genuinely when they were studying together the first time. Any rational human being would be touched by a genuine smile. Plus my bro craves human connection, he didn’t need a reason beyond that. He chose to ignore Sion’s shadiness because of that vulnerable, raw, and very real moment they shared. And he wasn’t wrong. It was a real smile. Also he’s a normal person. He’s not aware that every person is trash and that as the MC he has the worst luck in that he keeps being surrounded by trash.
This is backed by the novel btw

He knew Sion was bullying, he knew what the group was like, and yet he didn't think twice about joining the oppressive side.
For someone who knows what it's like to be bullied, this was cruel of him.
Many people warned him, and Sion's behavior from the beginning was strange.
He's stupid, yes, and he makes a lot of stupid mistakes, but he'll improve.

Gosh it’s so satisfying to see how MC doesn’t take shit from others. Like when he grabbed his collar and said ML didn’t get to make dictate his relationships or now when he’s full on confronting him. I knew ML was full of bull yet, just like Sunwoo, I let me guard down. I somehow let myself feel betrayed TT.
I do think ML likes him somewhere deep down in that rotten heart of his. The amount of effort he took to get him to sleep with him was astronomical. Even if he’s the obsessive crazy type that’s still too much effort! Plus he mentioned to the bully he wanted to see MC cry but when MC cried, ML literally admitted he didn’t like that and preferred him smiling.
I hope ML suffers pain like no other when he loses Sunwoo. I hope to see him suffer in university too! (The way this is going there’s definitely going to be a uni arc)
To anyone confused on whether or not Taegu is the second male lead and don’t want to read ch 21.5:
In the official Q&A, the English question was:
“Is Taegu Seo-in’s rival?”
The author’s answer was:
“He is, and he plays quite an important role in the overall storyline.”
In the Korean Q&A, the question was even more direct:
“태구 씨는 서브 공이 맞나요?”
This asks “Taegu is the sub gong right?”. Sub gong 서브 공- secondary top/second male lead. The author said yeah to this question.
Also if you reread it the author already foreshadows
It and there are context clues one might have missed because why on earth would we think he could possibly be a love interest? Like, I thought I was tripping when I was reading the scenes between them.
Well, it's already clear from that interaction in the kitchen. Man's got that yearning
Don’t get me started on that! This manhwa is just too good at saying things without saying them.
Cuz after he sees the hickeys Youngwoon asks him: “what’s it to you if I’m seeing someone” and then the panels are of his backside with a white back drop. They are reflective. He shifts his head. Is he pondering, questioning or just plain confused?
Either way, these feelings are just starting to creep in. He’s probably thinking “huh this does bother me..why” or maybe he’s not even asking why at this point but just subtly acknowledges that it bothers him. Even if it’s only very tiny amount it’s still weird for him to care about Youngwoon seeing someone. After all why now.
(Like really, I’m wondering why now)
Ahhhhh I can’t wait for the devastating angst and guilt and pain he’ll feel when he realizes his feelings for him. Knowing he won’t ever have him or deserve him.
I’ve been hyper fixating on this manhwa all day.
We can tell but thank you so much cause I don't have enough braincells to do so.
