Although it is strange how awful most of the "novel heroines" in these comics are. I understand if the heroines were dull, flat Mary Sues, but the "heroines" are all really nasty deep down. Apparently whoever wrote these romance protags decided "I'm gonna avoid the Mary Sue cliche by having her be the evil one".

Then the protag in our story, who is supposed to be the real villain, is sweet, kind and lovable because they are girls brought into these novels by their deaths on Earth. So I understand why they're not the villainess character anymore, but how come all the original heroines end up so rotten in these stories.

I think its because most heroines reincarnate come into the story thinking they are entitled to the good fortune the heroines of the original novel has. They think that following the story guarantees the guy or future they want which is why the villainess reincarnate, who is trying to change the story to save their lives, derails everything.

The dynamic usually is the villainess is trying to save their lives while the heroine thinks that they being the star of the show is the only one that matters.

Oh a very interesting theory. I wonder. Maybe the universe of these "novels" tries to rebalance itself. If the villainess becomes the heroine, the original heroine is driven to becoming her opposite. I doubt it's that deep, but it's the only that makes sense to me.

Or a lot of the authors just doesn't know how to write without a "bad" girl character who might've been good in another story.

I didn't notice it before, but at the end of the chapter, Yoon lays out his blue robe and has the Painter kneel on that. They're going to do it on Yoon's blue robe. At least it's better than the hard floor.

Yoon really, really hates the Learned Sir. The only reason he doesn't touch the guy is because he'd lose his leverage over the Painter. Learned Sir looked shocked by just how obsessed Yoon is with the Painter. He also looked kinda offended that Yoon sees more worth in the Painter than the Learned Sir.

Like dude, how important do you think you are? The kid has way more talent than you ever will.

Looks like Yoon has decided to prep the Painter first. Man, he was is without doubt obsessed with the Painter.

Yoon had the servants beaten, including the wise old man. When Nakyum comes back with In Hun, Yoon is furious. Nakyum calms him down and Yoon drags him off and starts kissing the painter. The Painter does not resist, but seems resigned to what's next.

End of chapter.

"The women of this world have blurry faces, except if they're close friends of the lovers".

Hahahaha. They really do. Faceless women wander around the BL scape. That's so creepy when you think about it.

Omg, "when you see a drunkard passed out in garbage, 90% of the men will take him home for SOME reason".

    So true of BL plots.

This manga is dangerous. What if all the Yaoi character become self aware and rebel against the silly cliches and plots? Think of the Fujoshis!

First, it looks like the teacher left because he's free to leave Yoon's residence when he wants. So he probably just walked out the door. But does that mean the Painter can also go out when he wants or are there no guards at the gate? Maybe he knew a backdoor out or the guard was distracted.

Second, let's not kid ourselves. The shrewd teacher knows Yoon's character and reputation. He's seen enough to guess more than painting will happen if it hasn't already. The teacher seems to be a predator himself (but with a different target) and he likely recognizes lust when he sees it. He knows exactly how the Painter feels about him and he probably knows how Yoon is looking at the Painter. Even if he doesn't know if Yoon's done stuff yet, he knows it's only a matter of time.

Third, when the Painter was upset and begging the teacher looked both bored and annoyed. Like "Ugh, do you have to bother me with your problems?" He could care less what happens to the Painter. The guy is as cold as ice. Even if the Painter admitted to being raped, the teacher would have just inwardly sighed and blamed it all on the Painter. "Are you sure it was rape? You do make those kind of paintings. What did you think would happen? See? This is why you should have listened to me. I'm so disappointed in you."

Fourth, Yoon lusts for the flesh, the teacher lusts for money and power. The Painter is what binds the two together.

Fourth, they probably won't even make it to Yoon's compound in the next chapter before they meet Yoon. He's going to see the two walking together and be piiiiissssed.

As for predictions, each act led to an escalation of the sexual relationship between Yoon and the Painter. Watching Yoon do it with the nobles turned on the Painter which caused him to masturbate which was observed secretly by Yoon who later used that as an excuse to give the Painter a handjob. This caused the Painter to cause a misunderstanding with the Redhead who freaked out which led Yoon to make a scene that was witnessed by shady teacher. That caused the Painter to steal the alcohol and get deliriously drunk and sleep with Yoon thinking it was his teacher. Each small thing led to escalation.

So now that the two have had sex and the Painter's been forced to give a BJ to Yoon. Where to go from here?

Sharing quarters. This is my theory, but I think the Painter's "escape" is going to cause Yoon to demand that Painter sleep beside him. It's more practical than posting a guard outside the Painter's room or locking him in. I think that'll be the next escalation.

After that, dressing the boy up in nicer robes and working to break his bond to the shady teacher.

Very interesting theories here. I particularly liked the one where he dresses up Nakyum. It'll be even more interesting if Seungho rewards Nakyum directly for being obedient instead of mediating through InHun. That'll definitely stir up some trouble.

    Mayeeri December 14, 2019 4:09 pm

I think Nakyum can go out actually, in chapter 11 after he almost got beat up as punishment the old servant told him to go for a walk since SH wasn't angry anymore. When the lord saw NK he teased him about him running away again but he didn't tell anything else about going out so I think it's not a big deal since at the beginning he's just a painter not a servant or slave.

OMG your theory is really interesting, I was also guessing that NK will have to sleep with SH in the future and after this failed escape it's the perfect timing. I think In-hun could tell SH that he stopped NK to leave to makes him keep watching the painter then he will be sure that NK gonna spying the noble for him.

Anyway I'm so exciting for the next chapter, we will see!!

Someone mentioned that in chapter 28, the old servant says that Na-kyum left and took his wet clothes with him - and they do look kinda wet in the next chapter. I see your ''sharing quarters'' and raise a ''sick with a cold'' Na-kyum.

I can't wait for him to explain to the MC, "You see, my heart is still broken from my first love."

    "Your first love?"

    "Yes. A butterfly."

    "...a what?"

"A butterfly. Even after all these years I remember the flapping for those cute little wings. My heart still yearns..."

    "..."

The big conflict is saying, "I'm psychic." He would have been better off just saying, "I dream about you." Gradually ease in the psychic part.

"You like me?!"

"Yes, yes, but what's important here is... you're in danger."

This chapter will make your blood boil. Shady teacher meets a desperate and clearly upset Nakyum who begs to run away with him. Teacher's like, "Naw, it'll be fine." He says its only painting, "right?" And presses the Na Kyum will do it, right? For the teacher's sake right?

And Na Kyum can't bring himself to admit he's being raped so he grudgingly follows the teacher back to Yoon's residence instead of saying "You know what, teach. You and Yoon reaaaaaaally deserve each other. Later!"

So Ch 30 is likely gonna have lots and lots of psycho Yoon when those two return together and are like, "Sup, Yoon! What's with the all soldiers and why do you have a sword again? Looking for someone?"

No matter how toxic and deranged the relationship between the main uke and seme becomes, the second lead never gets the uke. This story is a rare exception where the second lead gets the girl (or guy in this case) and the seme has to live with the consequences of his decisions. You almost never find stories like that. The second lead is usually just there to spark jealousy and misunderstandings.

In this the second lead wins over the MC and it's great. Love it to the end.
