I honestly think that this is a really accurate scenario of what its like to realize you're gay. You fall for a guy. You're confused about falling for another guy. That guy rejects you even though he also may be gay. You date an older man (who isn't confused about his sexuality) in order to be with someone stable and supportive. And in the end, the guy who rejected you realizes his sexuality after you've already moved on (or/and) you and the older man break up because of a difference in maturity.
I was in this exact situation when I was in high school, and the comments here about how Subin is 'using' Jun or how Hyunwoo needs to 'get over his confusion' kind of piss me off. When it comes to discovering you're sexuality, it's not as easy as just understanding and accepting your own feelings. It takes time, experimentation, and mistakes. It is a really difficult process, because how are you to distinguish if you love the older man or if you just love the security he provides?--- or how do you distinguish between loving someone as a friend and being in love romantically and sexually?
I really wish people would stop bitching about the characters, because this is actually incredible storytelling.

Youre missing the point. People on here aren't hating on Hyunwoo because he was just confused about his sexuality (an interpretation I disagree with, since it's made clear right in the story that it's not being confused that is the problem for him but the fact that he's not willing to enter into a relationship that presents more risk than reward), they're hating on him because he was being a shitty ass about it. (Even if his problem was indeed just being confused) there are more (and BETTER) ways to go about it than the way he eventually DID. Ways that would have been JUST AS, no, actually, even MORE relatable than the path he DID *choose*.

I agree with you that Hyunwoo has indeed been shitty to Subin (personally I ship Hyung and Subin) and the point of my initial comment wasn't to dissuade people from judging Hyunwoo's behavior. The point of my last comment: some people on here have this fanciful notion that the process of coming out is just 'dumb confusion'/'stupidity' and it is as easily solved as 'talking about your feelings,' which, if you ask me, is insulting to anyone who has actually gone through it. Many of the comments on here trivialize how hard it is to understand your sexuality when you're gay/in your first gay relationship.
I identify quite a bit with the situation these characters have put themselves in. That is all I can say. From my standpoint, the story is wonderfully done and the characters as well. Sure, Hyunwoo could have done so many things that would have been smarter, gentler, more communicative, etc. But if he hadn't made such messy mistakes, I probably wouldn't have identified so strongly with the struggle him and Subin are going through. It reminds me of the people I've hurt during the time when I didn't understand my own feelings--as well as the people who've hurt me.
And just an end note: As far as whether or not Hyunwoo is confused about his sexuality, I haven't yet read the new chapters, and when I made this comment, Hyunwoo's motivation/confliction was still very much up to interpretation. If you were to ask my blind opinion though (again, haven't read the new chapters), Hyunwoo has definitely shown insecurity/lack of understanding of his own sexuality. Either way, this is not entirely relevant to my previous argument.

I am all for this comment. You can see where sexuality plays a huge role in Hyunwoo's thoughts and actions, and sometimes when the two don't align, it causes major internal tension. Figuring out your sexuality is definitely not easy, and I really love how the author didn't glaze it over and make it so happy dappy and simple when it came to figuring everything out. Rather, you really see each character's struggles and their development as the story unfolds.

Well said. I think many people's frustratons are [understandably] warranted when it comes to Hyunwood's initial reactions to Subin's feelings, but having read things from Hyunwoo perspective, I find it easier to empathize with him. I think we should also take into account Hyunwoo's current situation. He's coming off a two year mandatory military stint, and granted I have no idea what their service involves, I wouldn't be surprised if there is an adjustment period where he's still trying to get his bearings.
Having to put your life on hold for two years and then being immediately thrust back into civilian life must not be easy. He's trying to get his life back on track, so it must not have been easy for him to have to deal with Subin's immediate confession - and by extension his own sexuality - when he's got so many other things on his plate. It's natural that he would seek normalcy and stability in his situation, and maybe given some time he might have handled this messy situation with Subin with more aplomb.

I mean, Subin had been pinning for Hyeonwoo for YEARS. I think it was clear how he felt for him, no? It did feel like Subin just had been using the older guy as a way for him to get over Hyeonwoo, because it was clear how he felt for Hyeonwoo from the beginning. By the end, no one seemed happy. Everyone just seemed miserable. I don't think anyone got any closure at all.

Chapter 6
"I'm a guy who has a steady job and a home. I'm not in need of a guy to heal me. Nor do I need someone promising me a future. I can look after myself perfectly well.. and I can choose my partner by myself."
I know that a lot of people are going to bitch and moan about how Ryuta cheated on Haruna in the previous chapter, and then how Haruna forgave him, but I think this statement kind of speaks for itself-- "Who is to say who I love, and who I forgive but myself? And only myself."
Such a strong character.

I don't think those two are dead. At this point, I'm pretty sure John is an expert on how injured someone can become before they'll actually die.
As far as John's ability, I'm thinking that this is one of those circumstances where his 'trick score' goes far beyond '10', but 10 is just the highest that the scoring system goes.
We know that John can copy abilities and combine abilities (which means the more people that gang up on him, the deadlier his ability becomes), but I'm betting John is also immune to passive abilities or can manipulate other people's powers/techniques in some way. Perhaps he can even completely disable powers.
A fight with Arlo will definitely answer these questions.
The fifth chapter is up on qvfamma's tumblr :3
