ML's so smart normally. How could he not have seen this coming from a mile away?
Love really is blind sometimes.

He knows Yiseon has depression and tries to help him with that (be it for selfish reasons or affection) but since the chapter before, Hyeon thinks he has Yiseon in the palm of his hand and didn't even consider that he would try to die again. He thinks he helped Yiseon 'get over it's by making him dependant on him

Yeah, I think, for now, he doesn't really understand how he feels about Yiseon. That's why even if he knows there's something wrong with how the MC acts right now, he doesn't really actively try to find out about it because he thinks MC is in the palm of his hand and he can just manipulate him later on.

Other red flags should take notes from Doha. He IS still a red flag but at least he is smart enough not to rape Bada. Although I am pretty sure that's just because, just like he said, if he did, he'd destroy any future chances on some fun with Bada, not because of his moral compass. If he even has one is still open for debate after all.

I love the novel and the old manhua so I am trying really hard to be open minded but for now it is trying a little bit too hard to be funny...the tone is completely different from FYJT, which is kinda irritating if you are used to that one. (Also I like the art style of FYJT way more....).
Well, only at chapter 8 so far, so it might yet grow on me....maybe.

It may seem pretty harsh but we really can't judge them with today's western standards because this behavior was a) normal for ancient China, and b) it's literally they or them. Living in that royal palace/harem environment was brutal af. Everyone was scheming and spinning court/palace intrigues against each other. Why do you think Jing Shao met the end he did in his 1st life? Either they are putting an end to it now and show anyone not to mess with them or they die again later on. Harsh and horrible but neccessary if they want to survive this time around. (Ofc the wrong person got sentenced to death, but it's more accurate this way.)
At this point Youngwon should just tell him the truth. It would explain a lot even if any normal person would have difficulty believing it at first and he can kind of back himself up by all the stuff he knows, that he shouldn't be able to know otherwise. At least it might give Hohyun a reason to stay put instead of putting himself in any more danger than he has to be.
But I guess, the author feels like we need the drama for the story to be more interesting.
