Ok, so I am over it and I will accept that this is just going to be different. I guess the one who did the mauhnwa didn’t like how it when in the novel or maybe this was be done while the novel was still going, but I do look forward to what the mauhnwa has to bring, because on its own it is still good. Still I want to share my thoughts from when I first saw this on MangaZone. So enjoy.
At least it’s interesting, but I’m so sad.!They removed my favorite part in the novel. I really want to see that daughter-father-bond. And the stick! I’m certain it won’t happen here now. Lucas is there and not on the right day. So spoiler/not spoiler. Novel version: Lucas comes back on her birthday and as a part of his present he chucks a giant stick he collected from the glowing tree at Claude. Athy freaks out. When Claude wake up he calls out his daughter’s name. Tearful reunion ensues. This version Lucas can’t fix him. I feel like I watching Full Metal Alchemist all over again. Or should I say Fruits Basket. The first anime was good, but different from the original. The second anime is true to the source material.
Also the festival is over in this version. So this isn’t a spoiler at all. On the last day of the festival Claude was to parade around the town. Athy takes this time to return to the castle. (Athy hasn’t gone back to the castle since the time she snuck into the castle and found her father half asleep on the couch.) When she arrived she is surprised to see Claude there and instantly try to leave via magical teleportation. It fails confusing her. Blood comes out of his mouth. (Can’t rememberer if someone tells or she noticed it, or he told her) She finds out he is using magic and if she persists she would end up killing her dad. She is worried and surprised that he is willing to do this and ask why he would do this you don’t even remember me. He said he would stop if she promises to stay and talks about how it has been tearing him apart that she is not there. She promises to stay.
Before Lucas comes back they stay together like the old days, at least they try. It is awkward, Athy doesn’t know what she should call her father since he still doesn’t remember. They talk about her upcoming birthday and other things. (when I read this scene, I imagined they were at there usual spot, with the sun glistening through the leaves)
Lucas is wandering around talking to people. (I skimmed this part. I was only interested in Athy and Claude’s relationship)
Maybe the mauhnwa was made while the novel was being written. That could be why this is different, right?

Setting? Background ? Who needs it.... maybe we will get to it in another chapter. We got mystery, drama, and problems to solve. Intrigued? Yes, invest!
I feel like this how most Chinese manhwas go. Am a wrong? Idk. But that end seriously made me feel like I was a fish staring at hook with bait(possibly a great plot) only to be caught winding down a rabbit hole.

.....I am not super into how they changed it from the novel. In the novel it showed how despite having memory loss he desired to find his daughter. He made a plan and was willing to die to have her back showing how strong their familial bond was, despite not remembering, he sense this unbreakable bond. Also the way he remembers is kinda funny. This just makes him..... idk, kind uncool, I mean why call Jeanette. Why does she make him calm here? She just his niece.

woah, if it's like that in the novel.. they really didn't do any justice to claude's actual character then. they basically made him kinda ''ice king emperor'' bc it's the trend, also he looks kinda powerless and without the help of lucas what's gonna happen to him? i would really like to see claude's fiery passion for his own daughter. that what u call "unbreakable bond"
Are you a thief?! o(`ω´ )o
