[After reading chapter 12]
I don’t trust this guy. I feel like the moment he is free he will reveal the village online. He will not keep his word.
And the vamp MC risking his entire species for this one human who isn’t even a love interest…I feel like this will blow up in his face. It has to. If it doesn’t that’s cool (they can go back to a chill slice of life supernatural ed.).
However, I feel like it will—as it raises the stakes even higher (this too will bring in a new adversary the vampire counsel and his family).
What do you think?
I used to think dark romance was just gothic style but with love. Good morals. Think Gomez and Morticia Adam’s. Castlevania Dracula and Lisa Tepes.
I have clearly not read dark romance.
I didn’t know dark romance meant dark grey characters, little to no morals, etc. Now that I know this, I guess I can accept this for what it is. A trial at dark romance.
No you're right, dark romance is what you imagined. The characters might be morally gray or have committed crimes, however theyre not supposed to be sexual assaulters, molesters or rapists.
Most people nowadays try to justify rape and SA by passing it off as dark romance.
If the FL is raped by the ML or vice versa, or if either of them have raped/assaulted someone else, its not dark romance it is simply a poor attempt at justifying romance.
A lot of people fail to understand that the more they read such 'dark' romances, they slowly alter their stances on these crimes in real life as well. Whatever you consume will shape you, whether you do it consciously or not. Every crime can be justified based on the situation, except rape and SA.
Nah. The sad reality of things is that "Dark romance" is splattered on ANY romance media with a hint of red flag. It's not even a 'nowdays thing'. This "R!pist being the endgame love interest thing' has been going on for ages... If one do not venture in the rabbit hole of erotica books and fanfic that aren't the well know stuff, one would think this deviant kink and type of storytelling is a new thing.
This toxicity justified thing has been around for a long time. What's really a" Nowadays" thing is the use of Dark romance tag. Back in the days (more than 15 years ago) books with this type of content and R!pist love interests wasn't even tagged with any warnings.
Like think of Twilight. Bella, Edward and Jacob were are all toxic characters from an objective point of view but, the book back then was heavily tagged with the "Most romantic story of all time".
my biggest problem with this site is that I wish it had a system similar to AO3 and that the tags were more specific. the other day I was reading BL and out of nowhere there was some light shota content, which I don't like. if it were AO3, that wouldn't have happened. not to mention that the comment sections would be much cleaner, there would only be people who are reading for the content and not being surprised by the content.
That is true and I agree with it. However the recent problem is that originally dark romance used to refer to books where the lead characters were problematic in the sense that they might have had twisted sense of morals or might be a part of a gang or whatever, but usually they still had reasons behind their actions which was not pure crime. Nowadays a lot of authors use this dark romance tag to their advantage and brainwash readers into thinking that crime and assault and rape is normal. Because earlier there wasn't a tag to this, so it was easier for people to speak up about it since there wasn't a label it came under, but now that its marketed under a label to the public, the audience that enjoyed books with those labels slowly started defending this and now more and more people defend this in fiction.
I wonder how long it will take them to start justifying this in real life as well.
I want to word it slightly differently. They should market things for what it is. If your content has rape and assault then market it as such. Stop trying to water its intensity and impact down by fitting it under the label of 'dark romance' to increase its publicity.
If you aim for porn then market it as porn and people will treat it as such. Rape kinks should be marketed as RAPE. They should not sell it under the guide of any sort of romance dark of not
When she tries- she can write good stuff. This story and and they have another one not listed here, that are good. All the other romance stories though—not my taste.
The good girlfriend (but I was mistaken as this one has a writer and they are the artist). I think it was a good story.
The good girlfriend

Their other work involves drugging and rape. Two bad people getting together. It’s basically idiotic hentai. I don’t recommend wasting your time with this.
Snow White is taken by the queen

Their ending wasn’t happy though. It seems that way to the MC and maybe at first glance. However, the editor—she was insecure in her looks and settled for the first guy that gave her attention. And ex-bf is about to do the same thing—cheat (if I remember). The author I think hints at these. Their whole relationship was built with plastic and we, the audience, know it’ll break probably off screen. we know they won’t really be “happy.” (I still haven’t reread it but I think I remember that much)
I didn’t even finish this chapter and I can tell I will hate this series. The actions of these characters is so illogical. Why would she be happy that he is jealous? He basically forced himself on top of her the first time. And she was a virgin, that is traumatic for women. She should be traumatised, scared, frightened. Or better yet mad, angry, furious. Instead she’s here giddy that her rapist employer could be jealous.
i can see where this shit is going from a mile away. A better scenario would be that she is angry about this situation and sees this possibility of jealous as an advantage and uses it against him. But no. The plot is her falling for her rapist.
Many of these smut webtoons are watery shit!
I’m Predicting what happens next
(A) I feel like this author would make her lover cheat on her to make him a bad guy and justify her sex with the count. (Doing this would be cheap.)
(B) I feel like the count would kill him.
(C) The count would send him far away to another kingdom/town.
(D) The count sends him back to his world.
She is in a terrible dub-con position to save herself and boyfriend. Now that the count knows they’re lovers, I feel like the sweet baby boy is in danger.
Lastly, the magic spell/system of this world to return is stupid. It’s clear that it was only made this way for there to be nsfw.
I know! This is why I’ve become bored/tired of fantasy romance. They’re predictable because many (like a solid 98.9%) recycle the same archetypes, situations, and tropes.
They’ve already foreshadowed the next ship—the blonde woman sorceress and the FL boyfriend. Whether they are good or bad is still up for debate. We could be surprised —the boyfriend softens the blonde woman and turns her good. However, the k-trope is instead they both turn into terrible people.
I feel like they slightly hinted that the boy had a he’s two faced. So far he seems like a good guy tho I don’t remember any hints of badness but I’ll have to reread his intro. But we’ll see…
Am I the only one hate-reading this?
Lmao
I just want to see if the author can make the landing because she already slipped and I’m kind of betting against her. But I am curious if she’ll make a 180 and nail it though I highly doubt it. I am learning much about how NOT to write a character arc withs toxic ML tho.
Bro hasn’t even apologised for his past behaviour. That should have been the thing he is working towards (but I guess it’s hard for him

Can someone finish this story please?
