That's right. I heard that ppl in Korea who read the original novel seem to be upset by this. Not only because the age gap but also his action in the story after this.
I read that spoil for a while so my memory might not be fully correct. But I remember that they said he is one of the ML that ppl don't like for this kind of novels (say, daughter of someone).
Honestly tho I'm not feeling ML vibes from him yet. Like its true I want to ship them because he seems like such a great guy, but considering Estelle's age and their relationship right now, he seems more like a guardian or the loyal knight that he is.

Honestly i dont mind it when a character is in love with another but still sleeps around especially if they dont tell the other of their feelings. Like what are they suppose to do? Abstain forever?
At the end of the day, I guess it all boils down to whether or not they can compromise on some things when their LI is ready/trying to meet them halfway.
