It kinda doesn't make any sense that the empress wants to destroy the person Rishak likes. If she does that than it's all the more likely that he'll end up in that arranged marriage. Shouldn't she at least find out who it is first? For all she knows it's a commoner, and that would only help her cause.
The heavy exposition dumps in this are just awful... I really hope it gets better. I'm kinda shocked this is the same author who wrote A Second Chance for the Outcast Prince. The dialogue and storytelling in that one are much more natural.
Since this isn't great so far I'll read it on here. If it gets better I'll read it on tappytoon.

I thought this was a finished story. Man, just when it's finally getting good, I have to wait for a second season =( Before this last chapter most of this story has been pretty average.
Also, I'm just going to say it, those side stories that took place in another life were waaaay more interesting than the original story.
And I really liked the side story that explained things from Heeyon's point of view. Before that, his character was kind of flat.
This was pretty average, but I've never read anything with a female alpha, so that kept me interested.
I feel like side stories ended kind of abruptly. It seemed like something was going to happen with Sia's mom, but I guess not.
