I think it was ok that Rin got a girlfriend. I mean yeah, hes been having sex with Nozomu for a while but when did they clearly speak about becoming exclusive? They didnt, Nozomu had feelings that he didnt know how to share and secretly Rin was thinking he had to stop before it got too serious. So he thought he was doing the right thing by dating the girl. Things eventually worked out and the girl was so understanding so, no harm, no foul.

Lets not act surprised that the author took the story of the ex in this direction, we saw it coming a mile away. Even after the excuses he made, he's still trash and made a selfish decision. The ending felt a tad bit rushed and some emotion seemed unnatural, but I'm happy that the couple can take it slow and begin to replace the ugly past with new adorable memeories.
