A simple explanation to the best of my abilities.

Both of them were in the same dream. Our mc thought he went into his favourite novel, only to wake up in his home, all existence of his fav novel gone like it’s been deleted from his real world. And strangely he’s about to start his first day at the company from his dream? And is even moved to the secretarial department. He wonders if his boss will be the same as the ml he fell in love with. When he confirms it’s really him, he decides he’ll act out the novel in hopes to get kidnapped again.

The chapter we just read is the ml waking up. All his confinement equipment gone. Now this is where things get a bit confusing. I think the ml probably genuinely had those visions of the mc since childhood, and he thought that dream was his longing for this vision of his. So now he back to the day of the dream mc’s first day at work. And he wants to check if the mc will really show up. Now he’s trying to find similarities of dream mc and reality mc. Too bad those attempts are being foiled by our mc acting indifferent in hopes of getting kidnapped again.

There are also weird time loops popping up that might be making things more confusing. An example;
You remember at the beginning when the ml only gave our Mc simple meals because that’s all he would eat? That loops back to now with our mc unable to eat anything because he’s so used to his ml cooking. Now he’s only eating porridge.

Or when the dreams “original bottom” (the lead of the story Mc read) confronted the ml in the dream saying he didn’t think the mc was a simple “no call no show” saying he remembered the mc telling him about getting kidnapped in a dream but couldn’t remember who the mc said it was about. Well that convo actually happened in real life.

And when the ml wanted the mc to fill out that form, what we’re watching now is probably all the actions he wanted the mc to write about in the dream world. The memories our Mc had not yet made.

So essentially things are coming full circle, setting up for the beginning of the story.
Only difference is that it’s only a matter of time before someone slips up and mentions the dream.

Same o just realized this may be the best tower based out there, the plot is unique, the emotions, the despair, the anger, everything really feels like you’re living with them. I genuinely just skip everything I’m doing when I see this one has been uploaded cause it’s THAT good

I don't think he's under oath or contract.

It was probably that they knew of his kind disposition, as well as his intention to kill himself after he got out of the "Great Dungeon".

They intended to leave wills to him in order to prolong his attempt until he finds happiness or reason to live.

In addition, MC actually slightly mentioned that he knew their intentions to stop him. But it still puzzles him why they have to do it to him.
