hmmm this is a secure/insecure attachment relationship and i think everyone in the comments is just reacting based on their own triggers and attachment styles. with that being said, i think this story fell flat for me bc of Rou just genuinely not being considerate of his partner and Yoshino never really getting the chance to express his feelings about it and hold Rou accountable. like Rou goes to lunch with the guy, calls him 'thrilling', is obviously super into him - though i believe its platonic and he was TRYING to be considerate by being open and honest (the secure attachment, in his mind he's just telling his lover about some cool new guy he met at work), but Yoshino was obviously bothered by it (insecure attachment, he felt he needed to be more thrilling and compete for Rou's attention even though he has been dating him for a year and is frequently affirmed in his love for him) but just kept telling himself (Yoshino) that he shouldn't be worried and then kept his fears to himself (ain't nun wrong with insecure attachment, but communication is key bc ppl with secure attachment literally do not understand the mental turmoil we go thru lmao). all of the tiny things/doubts/squicks added up into a big thing when Rou slept over, but they have been dating for over a year at this point, Rou was caring for an abused friend, and was verrryyy open about it all so it honestly wasnt a CRAZY situation, tho Yoshino still was very valid in his feelings about it and would have been valid to set a boundary to protect his feelings. I think he understood the situation enough that he put his feelings aside
so Rou could be a good friend, but the cost of that was he had to deal with his stress and anxiety alone. And Rou literally just did not at all think about how his partner, who imo he should have noticed isn't secure in their relationship, would feel about him taking some other guy on a friend date to their promised spot or that he might feel burdened by his plans to spend the night. and then when he finally does realize, sure he goes to apologize and recognizes the problem, but its just not as gratifying to me as a reader as if Yoshino were to use his own words and say out loud what made him uncomfortable and set clear boundaries moving forward, instead of just Rou vaguely declaring 'I promise I'll never make you feel like this again!'. like how could you possibly do that when you clearly aren't super observant?? took you a year and a half and him blacking out drunk then trying to suck you off to notice the man doesn't feel secure in your relationship. how exactly do you plan to avoid this in the future?? but i think thats more of an issue with how the author chose to resolve the conflict rather than beef with the characters themselves. and then hopping right into sex?? twice?!?!? no sit down conversation or nothin?!?? girl...
hey fellas, i took a break from this story bc the weekly updates were making it hard to follow the storyline/pacing for a minute for me. are we at a point where itll be worth hopping back in? i think i stopped around ch 75. ty!
theres so much to say about this story... but idk why NO ONE is talking about serdina's sick and twisted relationship with blaine like its easy to not feel bad for blaine cuz hes a creepy piece of shit, but the more u learn about his mom you realize he didn't stand a chance at not becoming like that. yeesh. yuck!
idk why hes cooperating with his family. he keeps saying he's afraid of dying but how is working with the very nggas who left u for dead in the first place supposed to help u??
ooh, to "build trust", the empress probably told that guy who has all the angenas land on collateral to assassinate the second prince and/OR tia.
also, i love how blanc was like 'oop! lemme get the fuck outta here" like she understood english
rlly like the character design, tragic that it was an SA based plot with absolutely no charm or romance to be seen. but idk what i expected from a us military fic
"he's too similar to King erald" "Prince caius is no good" "to prevent defective people like me from being born..." whats all this talking about?
so zigril also literally beheaded Kays paretns when he was a kid??? and he STILL married him?? he is such an unserious character. a wet napkin. limp noodle. not even a hint of a backbone to be found
i really truly love this whole sequence. beautiful work.
this story is funny (as in curious, not haha) bc realistically, the queen and rishar have the same goal. he never wanted to inherit, nor did he think he had the right to. this is rlly a battle between the queen and king with the kids as pawns. but rishar should just tell the queen upfront he wants etienne to inherit and they should direct their efforts towards changing the law or, idk, them getting married and it not mattering at all at the end of the day cuz theyll both be ruling together... but i digress.
im a few chapters behind at the moment but i had to step out and speak my piece before carrying on
i keep seeing the term "fine shyt"... what y'all mean by that?
tia: "you know this is a contract engagement right?
