this story is funny (as in curious, not haha) bc realistically, the queen and rishar have the same goal. he never wanted to inherit, nor did he think he had the right to. this is rlly a battle between the queen and king with the kids as pawns. but rishar should just tell the queen upfront he wants etienne to inherit and they should direct their efforts towards changing the law or, idk, them getting married and it not mattering at all at the end of the day cuz theyll both be ruling together... but i digress.

i reread this all in one go and honestly this is such good storytelling. i was actually impressed by how well the author picked up seemingly minor details and wove them back into the main plot. great characters and interesting take on the isekai trope. i dowish ruediger returned to his slick back hair at some point but its ok
