The level of patience and kindness he is showing the FL even tho no one knows anything about mental health is out of this world. He has raised the bar to such an unreachable level that I feel so bad for him. It's not either of their faults, I'm sad the world chipped away at her and that he has to bear the brunt of that. I don't know how he'd be okay if he saw her try to commit suic*de in front of him too

I laugh out loud in disgust every time I see a romance tag in this genre. At least this author finally depicted the potential for a good horror/psychological lead. They usually romanticize these filthy criminals.
.
.
I like reading about them but don't make us look a fool, a hot criminal does not make these crimes passable or romantic.

Everybody stupid. If a r*pist/kidnapper/drugger cries, stab him while he's wounded, take his wallet (to see his ID and get home). He don't have no goons to chase you, you got mafia resources to get back home and look into him. You lookin for an omega kid with the same eye and hair color who you feel you abandoned, this man identified as an omega with no explained grudge towards you and only you (instead of the actual a-hole alphas) as well as trust issues, there have been no hints of closeness with that boy and yet he care enough about him to kidnap you ...........I can't even finish. This would take forever.
I hate that I just wanna see the shame on the seme, and see the uke's struggle end even tho he poopy dumb dumb. Let's face it, writer had a quota

I'm so glad we're calling out how much r*pe is romanticized in books (and grooming, or sex with minors). I wanna say don't kink shame cuz it's just a book, but it's way more valuable to know we're not tolerating that BS. I remember being influenced by it from a young age. Some might make a grave mistake before they grow out of this dangerous delulu (also how he gonna save him from getting r*ped and then do it too tho)

Mah fam I'm gonna shame and blame.
It's 100% fine to kink shame in cases like those.
First, if you (not you directly, but ppl generally), get turned on by non-consensual sex (call it what it is rape) then you serisouly need to reevaluate yourself and get some help.
SA is so brushed off in manhwa and manga to the point it has become dangerous.
People are so indifferent about it, that when it happens in the story, it's treated as nothing more than a plot point, almost like a trope or a stereotype. It's not treated with gravity it should.
This is a hill I will die on. It's okay to shame people getting turned on by such crime. And it's not a kink. Kink would be consentual non consent, where both parties get what they want.
They are CONSENTUALLY engaging in non consentual play (pretend) that can be stopped at any point and has (or it should, like don't do this if you don't research, put boundaries, and have a trusting play partner!!) strict rules to be followed that insure safety of both participants of the play.
That's a kink.
The things mostly depicted in manhwa and manga are not consensual, and therefore if you get turned on by that, you need serious help.

Well said. Look, I only USED to think no kink shaming (when I didn't know I was brainwashed as a kid). As I said, it's way more important we tear this brainwashing down fr fr. And you right, there's def nuances that separate it from kink and illegal "play." Go off!! Shut theses MF down.
next part, is just a part of the spiral you sent me
Off topic, but lets shame people who defend and love partaking in manga/anime where they fetishize little boys and girls. I feel like I'm losing my freaking mind. How are so many people acting like harmful glorified troupes are okay???? Did you hear about all those girls that admitted their teachers groomed them and gave them the book Lolita as study material?!?
Who else still can't get over that this grown ass Clown was gonna kill a baby (HIS OWN NIECE, HIS BLOOD, HIS KIN) because she wasn't useful. Even some of the hardest criminals wouldn't kill a damn baby. I'll hate him till the end, even if he risks his life for her. Ain't no telling how many babies he's killed in his life. AND how he gonna love his son so preciously and still be fine with killing and threatening small defenseless children, the duality of his arrogance fueled by dumbass principles disgust me.
I’m with you on that one!!!
I even read a spoiler — SO HERE’S THE SPOILER WARNING
That supposedly, she forgives her uncle/the family for everything that happened and how they treated her at her coming off age. And she even called him dad there too. But take this with a grain of salt as it had been over a year since I read that spoiler and I’m not sure it’s completely accurate. But if it is…. Smh.
Another spolier i read somewhere... wonder if it is true
The real Selena actually died from neglect before Hera's soul took over.
Then that’s even more fucked up and I can’t believe they’ve trying to give this family a whole redemption when they basically killed a baby almost twice if it hadn’t been for Sherina taking over the body. And the fact that something only changed because Sherina took over the body is sickening.
Yesss it's all so messed up. We're not dumb. Throwing money and connections around while acting tsundere is not a redemption arc. At least the other duke ML that are romanticized kill for their country, dukedom, or family. He waltzed in as the casual baby killer ya'll, and now he wanna act cute! I'm burning over fictional characters!! Help me!
THANK U
I really hope not OMFG
Actually most of those “father daughter relationship” stories have neglectful fathers with questionable redemption arcs that shouldn’t ever be there
Just read this whole conversation and yeah, I totally agree with all of this!!! Like, there's the one with Penelope Ecart??? I haven't read it in a hot minute bc I had to drop it. Everything about how she acted around her brothers, the crown prince, EVERYONE that HURT her really urked me. It's so rage inducing.
Yeah, but with her it’s actually quite good cause she never really “forgives” them and acts like a nice daughter and happy family. I’ve read the novel to fairly further point and she’s always very cold towards everyone. She has great comebacks and doesn’t flatter. I love that about her, I love the angst and the regret. She actually goes through with all her plans, unlike other stories. Even the most popular “Who made me a princess?”, Claude’s neglect was never really properly addressed between them too, there wasn’t much solution except brushing it off. And that’s the case for most of this kind of stories, it’s quite disappointing. Some of them should 100% be revenge stories.
I think so far, Kill the Villainess have the most satisfying ending for me in this genre
Also, let’s not forget the typical “Daddy of his little princess and a neglectful father towards his son” trope. Actually, only recently I’ve found some stories where fathers were never neglectful, and care for their kids equally. Cliche’s can be nice, but they really overdo the whole “cold, handsome father” part into “neglectful, borderline abusive father”. Like, it’s not necessary.
I haven’t read the ending yet, but I’ve heard, since she does marry the crown prince (who ain’t a green flag either) I’m sure there could’ve been a better one, but I actually also somewhat like the ending of “Terminally Ill extra has a limited time” as well. Family should’ve gotten revenge but I like that she never forgave them until the very end.
Ooooh! Does it really get better? And yeah now that I think about it she really didn't forgive them, my apologies for that slipping my mind lol. And oh yeah, I completely forgot about that manhwa. I also dropped it at some point, it was years ago now though and I can't remember why. But I know that I remember being really frustrated and angry after the mom showed up and never picked it up again bc Claude was being ridiculous
I finished it, but it definitely had a lot to ask for. When it comes to Penelope, was she ever nice to them tho? Because I always remember her being very cold and indifferent from the beginning. The only tolerance she had towards them was to survive cause of affection level. She had to, and even regardless of that she sometimes risked it all just to tell them off.
Jesus I completely forgot about the affection plot point
Hahahah yeah, unfortunately she didn’t have much choice.
I recommend u to pick it up! It’s pretty satisfying, my go-to for relieving frustration about this kind of plots. And the best parts are still ahead in the webtoon! Haven’t happened yet and I can’t wait. Gonna be sooo good
I think it's a different webtoon you thought of, but I recommend going back at it, mc made sure that the people that hurt her could never get her
It’s definitely that one, I didn’t read that part of the novel yet but heard the spoilers. Doesn’t she marry the crown prince? Can u spoil me the ending?
if you are talking about 'Kill the villaness' then she leaves all those toxic people and returns to og world with her knight, they end up together (▰˘◡˘▰)
I really like this story and its ending
you should give it a try
I’m not talking about that one, but “Death is the only ending for a a villainess” or smth like that. With Penelope
I think this is the best ending for isekai for me... After all, it had more realistic approach and Anakin is such a big twist in the story... So many times I want to drop it but I am glad I read it till the end...
So I guess we were talking about different webtoons?
